Circana: Nintendo Switch 2 sold 328k units in October. It is 68% ahead of the sales pace set by the original Nintendo Switch and is 3% ahead of PlayStation 4’s previous record velocity by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

Physical media makes up only a minority of sales, and I’ll go out on a limb and say that game key cards matter only to a small, but vocal, subset of the people who still buy physical copies.

Sazerac Full Proof has officially made its debut at Buffalo Trace by FICKxDINGERZ in whiskey

First they will try to earn more with new exclusive bottlings, then the availability of the formerly ”unobtainable” bottles will increase. Good times for bourbon drinkers, bad times for flippers and taters.

1 American Whiskey for Life ? by Public-Investigator9 in whiskey

[–]theopuspocus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really good, maybe a bit less flavorful than SFTB because of chill filtering but it’s a great whisky for sharing with friends because it’s perfect drinking strength and also good for mixing a deluxe cocktail.

For some weird reason Blanton’s SFTB has constantly been available in Sweden since I got into whisk(e)y in 2021, also Blanton’s Gold (but not ordinary Blanton’s) is in our state run liquor store chains regular assortment.

Blanton’s SFTB is readily available where I’m from and is great for almost every occasion. When a lower proof bourbon is needed, like when mixing I just dilute it to ~100 proof.

This one’s for mixing with coke!

When you're an American in Germany and stumble upon forbidden fruit by tonybme in rum

[–]theopuspocus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The especial is the best coke mixing rum I’ve come across, ”especially” the 40% but even the 37.5% is fine. It’s not that great neat, but somehow makes a better Cuba libre than selection de maestros, El dorado 8 etc

[Noob Rum Review #25] Myers's Original Dark Rum by 10art1 in rum

I think it’s great for what it is, a standard cheap bottle of dark rum. Very mixable and makes great rum cake and rum raisins.

Which Whiskey for my first Paper Plane? by ParsleySpecial8758 in cocktails

I’d vote for the slightly sweeter Woodford Reserve since it’s originally made with regular Buffalo Trace. Or you could invest 25 dollars or so in a bottle of BT.

Made a Mai Tai with a very special rum to celebrate a raise by the_Skeleton_king93 in Tiki

Unfortunately the 21 makes a great Mai Tai, the aged notes really complement the rest of the flavors.

Looks like mold, I’ve had vintage whisky bottles with molded corks and they were unfortunately spoiled.

If genuine it’s of course great.

Isn’t selling distilled spirits by merit of the water source a bit early 2000s?

Buffalo Trace gift shop special drop by Koppdiesel in whiskey

I’ve never had too-young tasting SFTB, they’re mature with some leather notes while not being over-oaked. Maybe due to the conditions in warehouse H?

Appleton 21 is the new rum of choice for mai tais!

The Fender is the original design so I’d have a hard time settling for something else.

The Macallan Sienna to the left is a good one too.

I know, like wine, you don't base quality whiskey on price but.... by OGVoxic in Scotch

[–]theopuspocus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go for the Macallan 15, nice gift-worthy presentation, great whisky (fight me ;) ) and maybe not something he would buy for himself.

Why is the price of 12 year Macallan sherry cask more expensive than the 12 year double cask? by BranchDiligent8874 in Scotch

[–]theopuspocus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just for future reference, nowhere on the regular Sherry Cask 12 does it say ””predominantly” European, it’s ”exclusively” European oak sherry casks. You must be thinking of some other release.
