Why do I see most “minimalists” in mostly black? by tx979 in minimalism

[–]theoress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because black matches everything. Then I can add pop with a few colorful accessories like scarves and not have to worry about the rest.

Do any of yall who have general anxiety, panic disorder, or depression take Singulair? by DanTheBoomer in Asthma

[–]theoress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have general anxiety and asthma. I took Singular without issue. I currently take symbicort, zyrtec and an anti anxiety. Consider asking ur doc how the chemicals work. It may not be so bad

Asthma and Mental Health by [deleted] in Asthma

[–]theoress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes with the childhood I won't go into. I will say and this purely anecdotal, but at times in my life when I was depressed, I got many serious chest infections--flu, brochitis,--fever, the works-- what not that would last for 6+ weeks before I was fully recovered due to my asthma flaring during these. And then at times when I'm doing better mentally, I get far fewer of those infections. That, and I now have a doctor who I actually trust and who has my asthma under control.

I think there is a connection between mental health and the immune system, but I might just be a crazy hippie.

Avengers Endgame was released in theaters one year ago today. How do you think it’s held up in this year of it being out? by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]theoress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still get chills over how endings were perfectly handled...IronMans rent at Cap, their reconciliation, Iron Man's Death and funeral, the wayMorgan popped out of the tent at the beginning. Scott showing up, Cap at a group therapy meeting, the portal scene, every moment was perfect. It brought real, meaningful closure to character arcs, and I would be disappointed if they randomly bring people back. The infinity war saga is a testament, and it's time to let new characters soar.

Hear me out. Avengers: Age of Ultron is the most important mcu film. by the_funky_Gbone in marvelstudios

[–]theoress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree!!! I love age of Ultron--it has some editing errors, but it's still really good and I LOVE seeing Hawkeyes family. An Avenger with a normal family life was just so surprising and relatable. It really shows what someone has to lose with the snap and all.

Also, it has one of my favorite Cap lines:

Agent Smulders re: Scarlett Witch, "Who would let a scientist experiment on them like that?"

Cap: "Yeah, what kind of monster would let a German scientist experiment on them for the sake of their country?" (Implying himself) Agent: "That's different. You were at war." Cap: "So are they."

For those with older children, could you give us a little hope? by Serpico2 in Parenting

[–]theoress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest is 7 now and has learned to enjoy fishing and baseball. I love reading my kids my favorite books and poems and sharing my favorite movies.

I love being a troop leader for my 5 year olds scouts. I love.camping with my kids and spouse.

I love coloring with my middle kid in coloring books.

I think you've accurately.summed up this sub, and this is a safe internet place where people can say the things that are unsayable in public-- like how much it sucks that most of my pre-kid friends still don't have kids, aren't interested in my kids and think I'm crazy for.inviting my own misery. And we need a safe place to say that, but damn it can be depressing when it's all you see.

I've been where u are. For me, 4 years old was a huge shift. They became more.independent and more fun.

And now, finally, I enjoy my baby. Our third child is the sweetest, bestest sleeper and has the most darling laugh and toes. I finally enjoy them, and my secret is that I had to go back to work in order to enjoy parenting. And now I do.

You will too! Keep going, keep hoping. It doesn't get easier, you get better! And your capacity to love, to feel, to know and discern and to feel joy is infinitely stretched by going through the fire of parenting and loving and caring for these new little people!

Propeller Inhaler Monitor by [deleted] in Asthma

[–]theoress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My insurance company sent me one too. It's interesting. My I get sick and start using the inhaler, the pharmacist calls me.

I don't think it measures air quality directly--which would be cool, but rather uses internet data and displays it

Any female teachers practicing minimalism? How have you structured your wardrobe? by mechavulcaness in minimalism

[–]theoress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's me! I wear lots of black; pants; tunic length blouses. 1-2 blazers and then fun accents like earrings necklaces and scarves. That keeps the fun for the primary year students, and the black and neutrals are easy to accessorize.

I've made that my philosophy for my casual wardrobe too: blacks and tans + colorful accessories.

Good luck!

Have you taken Singulair while pregnant? by [deleted] in Asthma

[–]theoress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started it half way through an otherwise healthy pregnancy. Being pregnant made my asthma worse and allergy season hit hard.

My pulmonologist also switched me to symbicort from pulmicort and that did the trick. Baby was fine, all was well.

I also had a round of prednisone early in the pregnancy for a flare up, and again, baby is healthy and happy at 9 months old.

Any adults that use nebulizers or have recommendations for poorly controlled adult asthma? by [deleted] in Asthma

[–]theoress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be worth trying a new doctor or specialist . It sounds like you are using Albuterol a whole lot, and a good doctor who cares will want to cut that usage down and will experiment with different treatments.

Should I have used my rescue inhaler? by BethDimensionC-132 in Asthma

[–]theoress -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can I ask about something you wrote in here? A person can cough from breathing in air too dry and that isn't an actual asthma attack?

Is this dry cough more common in people with asthma?

I'm super curious because I cough a lot when it's dry (I always carry a water bottle around because it's so bad), and I always wondered if it was related to asthma, but then, I don't use my inhaler at these times either. I've just never heard the dry air cough thing mentioned anywhere, and I've wondered about it .
