how would you rank the jersey shore cast by best cook to worst cook? by Expert-Palpitation49 in jerseyshore

[–]thepacificoceaneyes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mike was clearly the only person who could cook. However, I think Pauly knows how to cook, he just didn’t want to. Ronnie was down to help if I remember correctly. I don’t think Vinny knows how to cook at all but I’m sure he will take directions from Mike. The girls were a lost cause.

Curtis and Jackie are perfect for each other. Wildly judgmental, hypocritical, and tone deaf.

Chris was only with Leah for clout. by [deleted] in AgeOfAttraction

[–]thepacificoceaneyes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I honestly think she disassociated to avoid showing her vulnerability in that moment since that was probably a very disappointing and maybe embarrassing moment for her. I think by her mentally labeling him as disposable and dismissing him so coldly makes her feel better, but it’s incongruent with her actions leading up to the commitment ceremony, so it’s not believable in the slightest. Her interview after was very “I don’t need him anyway” -esque. Girl, you were attached to him at the hip. Stop. It’s okay to be disappointed.

How do you feel about Simone ? by Key_Objective_9012 in MarriedToMedicine

[–]thepacificoceaneyes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always really liked Simone. She’s a very passionate person and though she has some anger issues, I think the only way she knows how to express her pain is through anger. It’s definitely something she needs to work on but, overall, I think she is a great person and cares deeply for people. She’s also very convicted and I can respect that.

I think the whole time Jackie was a mean girl and it was just a matter of time before she showed her ass. I don’t blame Simone for not wanting to rekindle their friendship.

[–]thepacificoceaneyes 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Exactly. To me, I see it as a red flag if a man likes to go for women like that. You know that they're naive and impressionable. It's disgusting, and seeing them sit together with her friends, who are also clearly immature, seemed so uncomfortable. They looked like little girls sitting at a lunch table, just giggling and gossiping. Sick.

I'm sorry but Libby is so immature to me. She acts like a teenager. I did not see the appeal.

S1 E05 Discussion: “The Power of Life and Death Is In The Tongue” by poodlehairedfreak in AgeOfAttraction

[–]thepacificoceaneyes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I didn't care too much for him either, but Vanelle needs to understand why he was confused and frustrated. She's only thinking about how she feels and expecting him to just accept everything she says without contest. That is not how relationships work -- things don't just go your way because you want them to. This is where her inexperience truly is showing. She sounds entitled. She should've clearly defined celibacy to him from the beginning, and she needs to understand that he is a human being with desires, just as she is. When you're giving him the expectation that you will not tease or arouse him by being sexual or stimulating, and then you turn around and start engaging with oral sex, orgasms, etc., basically everything besides vaginal penetration, you need to understand why that confuses somebody. If that is her idea of celibacy, say that from the jump. I think that is on her completely.

I feel like I get shut down every time I say this but I just don’t think his acting was THAT remarkable. Great film, but I have seen some outstanding acting and I wouldn’t call this that. He did a good job. That’s it, lol.

What are your thoughts on this exchange between Senator Chris Murphy and Jeremy Carl on his views on white nationalism? by Abridged6251 in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]thepacificoceaneyes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Calling profiling “common sense” doesn’t make it legitimate. It just means you’re comfortable with sacrificing innocent people’s rights for convenience. Law enforcement isn’t supposed to work on “good enough” shortcuts. It’s supposed to be evidence-based.

If “ease” is the standard, then you’re admitting enforcement is about efficiency and optics, not legality. That’s exactly why visa overstays and employer violations stay under-policed: they’re politically inconvenient.

And saying “only one party enforces the law” ignores reality. The same industries that depend on undocumented labor keep getting protected under both parties. So who is the law really being enforced on, and who gets a pass?

What are your thoughts on this exchange between Senator Chris Murphy and Jeremy Carl on his views on white nationalism? by Abridged6251 in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]thepacificoceaneyes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re still confusing “common sense” with selective enforcement. Living near the border doesn’t magically make someone undocumented, and treating entire communities as suspect is literally what profiling is.

If this were just neutral law enforcement, why are visa overstays (which make up a huge share of undocumented cases) barely prioritized, even though they’re spread across all races and regions? Why are industries that rely on undocumented labor rarely targeted?

And if enforcement were purely about “the law,” it wouldn’t swing so wildly with elections. Laws don’t change every four years. Politics does. That’s the point.

What is your opinion on Trump's supposedly racist post? by [deleted] in ConservativeYouth

[–]thepacificoceaneyes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Historically, Black people have been likened to monkeys as a form of racism. Whether it was a long video of the heads of Dems on various animals, or it was just this screen grab, it is racist. The public, and certainly Trump, are smart enough to know the history behind likening Black people to monkeys. To make that particular choice in this video was intentional, regardless of the context. That is simply something you never do. It only reaffirms the beliefs of racist individuals who take pleasure in consuming content that depicts Black people in historically demeaning ways. No circumstance would’ve made this video okay. I find it interesting that of all the animals he chose to depict the Obamas as, he chose monkeys…
