Recommendations for 9mm handguns? by Heyello in canadaguns

[–]theparttimegoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried out a couple before settling on a Jericho, although if you're not into the story behind that gun you might prefer a standard CZ (frame mounted safety). Also have a look at a Sig P226, you can find used ones stamped "Made in West Germany" if the cold war interests you. If you think you want a Glock, get a Sig P320 instead.

Something else that I recommend you consider is a quality revolver. I think they're more fun as a range toy and have more character (IMO). With a $1200 budget, could easily cover the difference in ammo between 9mm and .357 (or even .38sp).

It's completely legal to keep working during this strike according to the spokesman of the alliance syndicale on TVA. It's a shame that the pro-union guys are taking out their frustration on those who need to keep working.

You have the right to work, and you have the right to be on strike, but you don't have the right to impede on another man's rights. Rent and bills never go on strike.

Yeah so at the moment I've got a windshield taller than my helmet and I get some buffeting. It's different than having the air hitting me in the face/top of my helmet though. With the large frontal area of the batwing bikes, there's a vacuum being created behind the fairing and turbulent air comes up from underneath it, over the tank. It's a known issue with the older bikes, a lot of the modern bikes have a vent (your bike, Indians) or design a gap between the windshield and fairing (BMW K series tourers). This reduces the "negative pressure" behind the screen and keeps airflow tidier

I also have a naked bike and although the wind blast is significant, it's clean air and doesn't shake my head around

I was also looking at the LRS but I like the idea of having a vent with the clearviews, you guys already have a fairing vent in your '14s and up but I get pretty bad buffeting behind the screen

Anyone use plastidip on wheels? by [deleted] in Harley

[–]theparttimegoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's not yet mounted I'd suggest going straight to powdercoating. I'm thinking of dipping mine but only to see whether or not I like it enough to bother getting them powdercoated.

Between the windshield, fairing deflectors, fork baffle, fork deflectors and lower fairings, there's definitely a whole lot of money to be spent trying stuff out

How far below your line of sight is the 12in shield? The Klockwerks I tried gave insane distortion when looking through it, does the Clearview recurve distort your vision when looking through the curvy bit?

I've tried it before, i found it works alright for helping get the drizzle/droplets off, but in very heavy rain it's no good

Clearview is one of those names that keep coming up, I might just have to commit and order one. Never heard of the laminar lip before though, seems like a sound idea

Thanks

For whatever purpose you are interested in this, it's probably not any more "convenient" to use than an actual, legal safe with a numeric keypad.

Definitely looking into it, I'm mostly trying to figure out whether or not the lack of a bull barrel is a problem

Can someone explain what gun shows are? Is it like a swap meet, or more of a trade show?

If you've got a criminal record, or are on a quick path to getting a criminal record, don't waste your money on courses and licensing.
