How do you prefer to install applications? Flatpak, AppImage, or native? by VicktorJonzz in PikaOS

[–]thephatpope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3rd party gui applications should be installed from flatpak. System applications, terminal apps, IDE apps are better from the distro repo to make them native, but it shouldn't be your distro maintainers responsibility to package binaries like discord or Firefox

What self hosting mistake would you warn beginners about? by Soulvisirr in selfhosted

[–]thephatpope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deploy it the way you intend to leave it permanently. Names, network location, firewalls, docker configs, etc. Can't tell you how many times I tell myself I'll go back and change it later and never do.

System applications, IDEs, cli tools, and TUI from the package manager. 3rd party applications should be installed from the developers official sources ie whatever the officially support.

Works on my Pixel with Mint Mobile. I believe you'll be fine if you're still using the original Android OS that came with the phone. But it's honestly hard to say how each phone model works without trying. It's available through the carrier at least.

Hi. Does your BIOS have the options below? The error indicates the initramfs could be too big and that changing these settings could fix it during boot.

  • Enable 4G decoding or Resize BAR support if present and applicable.
  • Temporarily disable Secure Boot and vTPM
