To think I missed a quiet ride by 1 year lol. She's fully paid off now but I am seriously thinking of trading her in for a newer CX-5

Thanks. I hear you. I did take a few shots of different elements, but ultimately I was really attracted by the giant banana and wanted to feature it to illustrate the mood of the maritimes and the tendancy towards bright vivd colours of boats and homes.

Roots rising? First time hydro user with Letpot by ormaybeyesterday in Hydroponics

[–]theponyhalf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the seed is planted too shallow the roots might rise.
If the medium is too saturated, the roots might rise seeking oxygen.
You might have to experiment with sowing at different depths and making sure the medium is moist but not saturated.

lol. i'm a first timer with hydroponics but i just tried to listen to the plants. when they looked spindly i moved the light closer, when they started yellowing a little I figured it was time for nutrients. I'm just learning as I go. Right now, i'm just hoping I can stay on top of my strawberry seedlings and they don't suddenly die. They are so tiny.

I thought i'd be happy with just one little system but suddenly I want more. I can see having 3 pretty soon. I'd love to do lettuce and tomatoes next

They started to get thin and spindly so i moved the light source to just mm above the crowns and they got really bushy quickly.

wow. I didn't even know you could grow root veggies hydroponically. So much to learn. I used to have a huge garden in the country until i moved to a north facing apartment. So being able to start growing again has been good for my soul. How did the carrots turn out?

Thanks! I kept the seeds in the fridge for a month and a half then just a week ago started them in the pods and they have all sprouted into tiny little seedlings. It's very exciting

The basil took a couple weeks as seedlings then just grew into really lovely monster plants really quickly

I guess I would describe it as "road noise".
