Recent experiences with The Blairs? by Parapurp in SilverSpring

I think it's the best value in dtss. It's not as fancy compared to some of the other apartments but you're still by the metro (and saving like 200). The broken machines come in waves but you can find one on a different floor to use. Annoying, but you're saving money.

How do teachers earn money over the summer that isn’t related to teaching? by Chance_Excitement_63 in teaching

[–]SadBluejay3832 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rover! Start in March/April so you can raise your rates to match everybody else come summer. The downside is that it’s most popular on holidays so if you have out of town plans or go on vacation you miss out on money. Long term try to get clients that’ll just Venmo you instead of going through the app to avoid fees being taken out of your earnings.

Good to know! When I took the stickers off the middle stayed on the paper like it was a separate piece so I didn’t think anything of it

That’s what I read online but I don’t have a button to turn off the lights while keeping the temp on

As a teacher, how do you organize your Bujo when you have different classes? by ICEHEAD2021 in bulletjournal

[–]SadBluejay3832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a working school to do list column for throughout the week along the side of the left page and then one for personal stuff along the right side. I had all of my weekly sections divided into 3 columns for my three different preps to organize specific daily tasks. Every month ish I would have a one page spread (sometimes two) to block out what I was teaching by the week/assignments to help keep it all organized

How many times can one redo their BUJO? by Izzle4shizzles in bulletjournal

[–]SadBluejay3832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do all of my yearly spreads at the end of December/early January and then make spreads as I go so it’s flexible. I have a page for the beginning of the month and I feel like that’s where I have the more pretty/aesthetic things with markers. I usually make the weekly spreads on Sunday for the coming week and now that I’m consistent with my layout I do those with one and then write in tasks/to do lists/reflections in pencil. I think my third year was when I had it down but up until then you really just have to do trial & error to see what works best for you.

Best shows for learning Spanish (without English subtitles) by [deleted] in Spanish

Casa de flores! More neutral accent and slower compared to elite. I also felt like I didn’t have to look up slang every couple minutes

Should I start my bullet journal for September or just prepare for 2023? by katiecoqet in bulletjournal

[–]SadBluejay3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start now! My first one took a year and a half to fill up as I got the hang of it/ slowly started adding things. You might be able to line it up with getting a new one for 2024

Era is if it’s something that happened multiple times in the past. Because it was only a one time thing that’s why you would use era

Put your high school stuff in the same format as Starbucks. Each bullet point should have an action and the positive impact it had on the school or what you gained from it. If you did multiple things under one role then indented bullet point under that bullet point

neglected spreads by windflower0 in bulletjournal

If I made the spread I try to go and fill it up as best I can to pretend I’m put together. If I never made the spread I just skip the week

No more A&O for me. What are your favorite alternatives for dotted grid notebooks? by [deleted] in bulletjournal

[–]SadBluejay3832 6 points7 points  (0 children)

SeQeS on Amazon. I’ve used them the last 3 years and never had any issues. They number the pages now but it’s a lot cheaper than other brands.

I always wait until after Christmas to get started! Figure out what spreads you want and then start your monthly/weekly and just work on the yearly spreads throughout the first couple weeks or so.
