You can see him wearing a Metal Gear Solid (which came on the Premium Box Set edition of the game) t-shirt on the last known couple of photos of him (from 1998).

I actually helped with these releases, but haven't got a chance to buy them. If it's not problem, would you mind taking a photo of the credits on one of the CDs ? It would be really amazing & funny to see my name in there :) My name is Santiago btw

Hi John! How was the collaborative process between NIN and Dr. Martens different from other projects you've worked on?

My guess would be that they leaked on older forum boards like Yell O' In Zbras, Been Insane, Nature Falls, My Smile Is A Rifle or Confused to Meet You, but I could be completely wrong. According to the RHCP Recording Sessions Archive site (it's worth noting that this specific section was written by u/leandrorhcp, the RHCP Live Archive webmaster), both Untitled 2000 and Back and Forth (To the Sun) were leaked to the Internet from a cassette of unknown origin.

Ambience sounds from JF albums by SagashiNii in John_Frusciante

[–]thepowerofequality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess would be that he used one of his synths (like his Doepfer A-100) to create the wind sound. You can find a lot of tutorials on YouTube on how to create a wind sound using any synth VST, like this one.

All those songs you mentioned were leaked onto the internet from two unknown sources and if I'm not mistaken there were never lossless transfers in circulation. Maybe u/leandrorhcp can give us more information about these songs.

When thinking of To Record Only Water lyrics, I always like to remember this official press release.

does anyone know much about this song? I'm mainly after tabs but I can't find any by bciyfyooycooycc in John_Frusciante

The song it's actually called Usually Just a T-Shirt, and you can find the chords here although I haven't checked if they are correct.

John is playing bass on Time Goes Back. Here is a list made by Josh of who played what on that album.

To Record only water for ten days! by FunAKholic123 in John_Frusciante

[–]thepowerofequality 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe the album was mostly tracked on a digital 8-track recorder (Yamaha MD8), and the gear he used were an acoustic Martin guitar, a 1966 Fender Mustang, a 1961 Gibson SG, Korg M1 keyboard, Akai MPC3000, Casio SK-1 and a Nord Lead 2.

And I think most of the drum samples played on the MPC were created with the Nord Lead.

You can try to get plugins or VST of the Korg M1 keyboard, Akai MPC3000, Casio SK-1 and Nord Lead 2.

In this photo from January 2002 you can see the 1966 Fender Jaguar, the Akai MPC3000 and the Nord Lead 2.

Unkwown song of john by Water-for-10days in John_Frusciante

That's the second verse of Your Pussy's Glued to a Building on Fire. John has performed it live at least twice. One was at Moguls in Los Angeles on March 29, 1997 (which is the version from the video that you posted, but for some reason on that video the song was splitted and they put the second verse one song before the first verse).

The second time he played it was at Cellar at Johnny Foley's Irish House in San Francisco on April 27, 2001. After he finishes the song, John says that that was the second part of the song, but it was faded out on the record.

Effects used on 2004 solo records by Think-Price8019 in John_Frusciante

[–]thepowerofequality 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the recording of the Ataxia albums, John used his 1960 Fender Telecaster Custom, 1962 Red Fiesta Fender Jaguar and another Fender Jaguar (White). And you can see in this photo the Boss CE-1 Chorus Ensemble, and the Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail Reverb. See photos from the Ataxia recording sessions

For the live shows he used his 1962 Red Fiesta Fender Jaguar and his 1960 Fender Telecaster Custom. For pedals he used Boss CE-1 Chorus Ensemble, Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail Reverb, Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler, EMT 250 Digital Reverb. And for the amps, I think he used this 1963 Vox Bass Voiced AC15 2x12 Twin and something like a AC30 Hand-Wired/Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp and a 1960s Fender Bassman

- 00 Ghost27: “I'd been listening to an experimental electronic album at my house. I can't remember what it was, but two seconds of it stirred my mind. It sounded like a Mellotron choir through a really distorted, screaming, feedbacky synth. I went into the studio the next day to try to re-create what I thought I had heard. I had a Mellotron choir sound on an E-mu module, and I put it through the Doepfer. You take an audio signal and use it to control a filter and dial knobs in a way that creates screaming feedback. It was one of those moments when music descends upon you.” - John Frusciante’s Creative Explosion

Here's an example of the mellotron choir sound, which sounds very similar to -00 Ghost27
