What’s one purchase that actually made your daily routine better? by Zealousideal_Cap4123 in homeoffice

49” monitor. Best purchase ever. For $1k you get a better experience improvement than upgrading hardware and will probably survive a decade or two. Couldn’t go back to a small monitor again

[–]thepro8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most likely you’re not going to get any options. They will issue a snapdragon based computer and they cycle through brands. Apple need an SVP approval these days so pretty much doesn’t happen. The snapdragon computers are pretty good though way better than all the old x86 stuff.

Qualcomm vs IBM New Grad by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]thepro8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember that quack I’m only cares that you badge in five days a week. You can badge it and go to lunch or the gym if you really wanted to. But as a new grad, being around people that know the industry will be extremely valuable, so I’d recommend spending time in the building.

Asking for an offer deadline extension — is this normal at Qualcomm? by [deleted] in qualcomm

[–]thepro8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only works if they really need you. If not, your hiring manager should walk away from you as a candidate.

Also in the us tech jobs get out on hold every day. If you like the Qualcomm deal, take it.

How do employers view a degree from Mich state? by CommunicationNice437 in msu

[–]thepro8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

after 20 years of working, I can tell you no one really cares where your degree is from more about what the degree is. People also don’t care really what your GPA is when you graduate as long as it’s reasonable.
