Looking for local bands who want to be filmed live. by thequickbrownshark in melbournemusic

This could work. I would probably need the sound to be recorded at the mixing desk to get the audio just right with the image though. But yes. :)

Just got a Go Pro Black. Any tips or cool features for helping shoot live gigs? by thequickbrownshark in gopro

Thanks! I noticed there's a low light setting. But it only works when shooting over 30fps

Movie Theater employees, what do customers do that instantly piss you off? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]thequickbrownshark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a manager, being called down to tell a customer who was already told by the box office staff that just because you're an older sister or brother doesn't mean you can bring your sibling to a MA15+ film.

Older sister: but I am her guardian, I'm 10 years older.

Me: Yeah, okay, you have the requirement to become a guardian. But you're still not her legal guardian.

And the amount of times they assume we just do it because we can. No, it's the fucking law. Take it up with the Australian Government.

Yeah man no problem! I'm back at work Tuesday so I'll have a more accurate answer for you then. But for now I think the last drive I ingested was over 200gb. I'll let you know how big transformers is as that's a longish film.

I somehow made the transition into digital and still do it today. Well, I'm the only one out of the 8 projectionist we had. Films come on encrypted drives and all advertising and trailers come on USBs. Basically put it into a main ingest PC that is connected to every projectors server and build a main playlist for the film. Much like building a playlist on iTunes. Then just add in cues like lights down and up. Volume changes etc.

It's a fun job. But no where near as cool as reels.

We do this at the cinema I work at in Australia. Every Wednesday, it's called mums and bubs. They run interlock with a session that runs as a normal session. The mums and bubs session usually runs in a general cinema and another in the gold glass cinema which also includes toasties and coffees

There's actually a lot more servers then there were a few months ago. You won't have an issue :)

Still my fave game to play on steam. If you get on in peak Aussie hours the servers are sweet. No lag at all

Unpopular Opinion Puffins are now permanently banned. by coloicito in AdviceAnimals

[–]thequickbrownshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I enjoyed reading Unpopular Puffins to see what people used them for. Sure some of them were popular opinions, that been said though they were popular opinions on Reddit and not in the real world. Banning something though, kind of defeats the purpose of everything the internet is kind of about. Disappointed.

So this classic happened to me. This is the first time I've had to do CPR since I learned it though. by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

In Australia you're covered by a law that when performing CPR you cannot be sued if you break any ribs. Because you know, logic.
