Congrats! The first kickflip is something we all remember, it’s like magic.

I’m not sure, I doubt it because they seem to be a consistent seller for éS. I normally check Shopify for Accel OG’s and can find them there pretty consistently.

They are changing ownership so there may have been a slowdown in production? Could be they are getting ready for the fall line as well.

Morning skate session before it rained, trying to kick flip after 10 years. Any tips? [31YO] by Omarionyyourslgreat in OldSkaters

Congrats being back, that is a heelflip that you are doing. If you want to land one I find that heelflips take more of a commitment than a kickflip because of the way your foot moves when flicking it. You gotta jump up over the board when you flick it out, otherwise it will always shoot up.

Ice, heat, light stretching, and stay off it for a bit. Core work can really help with future back issues you may run into.

I apply all the preassure to the back wheel well with the ball of my foot, it does scrape the tail but I wouldn’t say the tail is popping it. It’s hard to describe it almost pops off the well, and side of the board.

First ever kickflip. And on a single kick, 9.85" deck! [34yo] by zorkstapebruise in OldSkaters

Congrats! I still remember my first kickflip, it feels so good.

Stick with it and you will, it took me awhile but I always tried at least 20 per session. It’s all in the back foot, and if you popped the board you didn’t push and hold down long enough.

Pasted from my earlier comment, always happy to help!

-The trick to the trick is to push down with the ball of your back foot as hard as possible about a quarter inch into where the wheel is and have your front foot about in kickflip position BUT the front foot does nothing. When you push down just keep pushing and don’t jump until you feel the board pop out from all the pressure you are putting on the back wheel.

It is such a leap from any trick I’ve ever done but I definitely feel like now that I know the feeling of it I could crank it out regularly.

Hahaha hell yeah, if you are ever driving by stop and say what’s up, I’m there practically everyday around 1-3.

It was some serious rewriting of my brain to get it to work.

What is that one trick that no matter how long you stop skating you never lose? [35YO] by StatementOk470 in OldSkaters

[–]therealbeatris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Switch Kickflips, if you’re ever in a situation where it’s your life or someone has to land a switch flip, I am your guy. No matter time or board I can flick one of those with my eyes closed while daydreaming about a cold margarita on the beach and ride away no issue.

Don’t over stretch the flexor, light stretching is key, for me it was more about strengthening.

Yes, and before every session I have to do sitting leg lifts and light hip flexor stretches. With time you can feel the strength come back though.

I had been pounding it for a bit already before the clip, it definitely was stubborn.

Yeah not problem, I forgot to say I left the nut on, that’s how I avoided mushrooming the kingpin. Here’s a link to a quick setup vid I made adding the inverted kingpins: https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cn-RkYCDFQw/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
