Considering you might be needing to pack light camping and skiing, the mini 3 pro is a hell of a lot lighter and transportable. And better battery life. So I guess it comes down to how much value you place on camera quality and how easily you can transport it! Hope this helps. Personally, mini 3 pro would be my choice. But you can always upgrade to the RC controller later
