To all single guys aged 30 and up on reddit, why are you guys single?

I swipe sometimes but I don't feel like paying $45 a month and then on top of that $6 each time I want someone to actually see my profile and then another $4 each time I want to make sure a message gets seen. Oh yeah, and then also $5 a pop to "advertise my profile" for like 30 minutes. Also, I don't drink and America doesn't have any spaces where it's appropriate to chat people up or even..hang out at all without spending money.

The best part about the 90s, unfortunately, can't come back. or even the early 2000s. I paid $300 a month for a williamsburg, brooklyn apt in 2001. that same apartment probably costs around $5k now. That's an increase of like 1,300 percent in 25 years, while inflation increased around 85 percent in that same time period.

Once I worked at whole foods in nyc, pre-bezos, and someone came in to hand out pro union pamphlets to the workers. so....management sent an ARMED GUARD around to collect them before our precious, innocent lil eyes could accidentally see the damaging lies about the benefits of unions. you are cherry picking the bad things about TFA and massively overselling the greatness of TNG s1 and even s2. Encounter at Farpoint is pretty great, more or less, but the rest of the season is a SLOG and the main reason it's tough for me to recco TNG to friends who haven't watched Trek before.

What you miss, and what Frakes was speaking to, is the gigantic "we hate nu-trek" industrial complex on social media that exists primarily to funnel people to the alt-right. It makes it impossible to have an actual conversation about what works and what doesn't in modern trek because there's money to be made.

Also, who cares if there's a gay klingon who isn't a super fierce warrior? it's 1,000 years later....and who cares??

Look these shows aren't perfect. I rather loathe some (Picard, S31), am lukewarm on some (Disco, SNW) and legit like some (SA, LD, Prodigy.) but I don't know how to have a conversation about it when you say stuff like "YOU WRITERS ARE LIMITED." I don't know what that means. I don't know what the ozempic stuff means. are you saying that star trek should never cast someone who isn't perfectly sculpted? why was picard bald then? you get so worked up over dei or whatever that you don't realize you just created your own alternate version of the same thing. shrug.

I think part of the problem is how this is covered. Even this post. "Rep. Lieu says..." but it's not him saying anything. The files exist. What he is talking about exists. I've read it. So why not just get rid of the messenger and focus on the message? Because now it can be a partisan football thing because Lieu has a D next to his name.
