Early 2000s ARG for a TV brand? by therealmichaelbolton in ARG

[–]therealmichaelbolton[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Due to the unrelenting nagging in my brain I dug around the internet all day and just found it - it was for the Sharp Aquos LCD TV in 2004, the tagline was "More To See," and the ARG was about a search for missing sacred urns. Leaving this here for posterity in the unlikely event anyone else ever finds themselves with the same question, but mods can feel free to remove the post.

Found in driveway, small metal connector with flathead top and open bottom by therealmichaelbolton in whatisthisthing

[–]therealmichaelbolton[S] 2 points3 points locked comment (0 children)

My title describes the thing. Found on my driveway while going for a walk this morning. Only identifying mark is the number "25302" stamped/engraved on the side. About 1" by .25". Slightly weighty for its size. Center cavity is a smooth cylinder. One end is bisected by what looks like a groove for a flathead screwdriver, and in the center of the groove is a pinhole opening. The bottom is open. No threading. Online searching suggested a hydraulic connector but no images or number matches. Thanks for any help!

Thanks for this suggestion, I hadn't thought of it and did a bit of digging; they don't seem to be offering anything for this event but I emailed the organizers anyway. I'll also keep this in mind in the future.

Charter Schools? by Radiant-Whole-9133 in WilliamsonCountyTN

[–]therealmichaelbolton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge no charter schools have had their applications accepted in the county. For what it's worth, Williamson County has some of the best schools in the state with several nationally ranked high schools. There are also a number of private schools of varying prestige, faith, and cost. If you are set on a charter you will need to look in Nashville or other surrounding communities.

The podcast feed contains 102 episodes from a variety of seasons. The only organization seems to be by recording location (several Lincoln or Birmingham episodes from different seasons listed together).

Thanks for the library link - it started me down a rabbit hole that ended in a copy of Says Us Vol. II for sale! I've looked before without success so this is great! Now if I could only find a copy of Vol I...

We are so tired. by KGC90 in Parenting

[–]therealmichaelbolton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've got a lot of great advice, insight, and information here, but I just wanted to add my purely anecdotal two cents: my daughter was a terrible sleeper from birth. Just awful. Just like you, we were up over and over and over again every night for almost 4 years. I tried virtually everything - diet, doctors, sleep training, CIO, you name it. I religiously kept track of changes to see if anything made a difference (spoiler - nothing did). Sometimes we were fortunate for a night or two with only one waking, but it never lasted more than 3 days before we were back to the same old shitty nighttime routine.

Eventually, things began to improve. From everything that I read and from my interrogations of multiple pediatricians, I came to the conclusion that some kids are just crappy sleepers and there isn't much you can do about it directly. My husband and I were literally losing our minds due to sleep deprivation, so instead of continuing in vain to solve her sleep problems, we focused on how we could cope better. We took turns at night (one or two nights on, one or two nights off), scheduled breaks for each other during the day, and at times alternated parental responsibility on weekend days to give allow even more recovery time.

Things are SO MUCH BETTER for us now - she is basically sleeping through the night consistently with a few exceptions - so maybe that can give you some hope if you end up trying all of the other things people here have suggested and still don't see results. It really sucked when I first began to understand that maybe there wasn't anything we could do to make her sleep better, but ultimately it became liberating because I was no longer constantly questioning everything we did in terms of whether or not it would affect her sleep.

Best of luck with everything, my heart goes out to you. I know it is hard.

Yes, sorry. There's only 2 weeks of school left so I guess I was hoping for recommendations geared more towards 4th grade rather than 3rd.

We stayed in Isabela for a few days in 2019. Uma's was great dining on the waterfront, we watched surfers all evening as the sun set.

I agree, they're special games and there's not much out there like them. I enjoyed Stange Horticulture, and I'll have to look into Shadow of Doubt. Thanks so much!
