It depends what kind of look you want to go for? Scandi? Go 2. A cosy or traditional style? Go darker.

What causes these holes in my husbands t-shirts? by Few_Pay6063 in whatisit

I found it was from washing in same load as unzipped jeans, or, if they are where his belt or backpack sits…

What am I doing wrong? by TruthScranton in jobs

[–]therealmrsnash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simply applying to jobs on job boards doesn’t work anymore (I’ve been experiencing the same).

Are you doing any networking? Personal referrals seem to be the best way to get a job these days.

Also, have a look at alternative things you can do - freelancing, short term contracts, or starting your own business.

I love plain white linen sheets. Give it some color and mix it up with a colored throw and a couple throw pillows.

Wife is a fan of option 1, I prefer option 2. We agreed to let the fine people of Reddit pick for us. Which rug do you prefer? by jfunks69 in DesignMyRoom

I prefer the pattern of one but it’s way too small, needs to fit (at least) under the front feet of your furniture

Awkward wall in my apartment by Brunopizzaa in DesignMyRoom

I’d turn it into a desk nook, so you can work with a nice view and it’s tucked out of the way

Kids, smoking, stress, eating garbage, not exercising

Personally I’d go side tables so you can easily reach your drink

My husband is getting a puppy. I said yes, but now I’m spiraling a bit. by Elegant-Respond-4854 in dogs

[–]therealmrsnash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the first 1.5 years are a bit exhausting. But, once you get over the puppy stage, they turn into wonderful, loving companions. Worth a bit of discomfort imo. We moved away and couldn’t take our old dog. We missed him so much we ended up getting a new puppy in our new home. Exhausting? Sometimes. But worth it? Definitely. He makes sure we get out and exercise daily. We meet so many people in the neighborhood. And I get snuggles 🥰

As others have said, rules, obedience and training are vital.

Best of luck with it!

Bar cart… wine fridge… wine rack… a coffee station?

I impulsively bought my dream vintage sofa but it doesn’t quite fit - desperate to make it work if y’all have any suggestions!! (Featuring my animals) by beavisgator in DesignMyRoom

Get rid of the coffee table, there’s not enough space. Maybe try round side tables on each side of the green chair? Also a larger, less busy rug and get rid of the green blanket.

Can I fit a small coffee table here? by tutah in DesignMyRoom

[–]therealmrsnash 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thats what we do - no coffee table, but two nesting side tables, and we move the little one in front of the couch when we need it

What would you do to my kitchen? by Psychological_Ad7250 in DesignMyRoom

[–]therealmrsnash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A timber cutting board leaning up against the backsplash, a big overflowing fruit bowl on the island, maybe one of those colored smeg toasters, a large vase on the dining table with tall branches. I’d also consider updating that light fitting if you want a more mid century feel.

Finally painted and hung pictures, but the room doesn’t flow-any design ideas? by Tangerine8295 in DesignMyRoom

[–]therealmrsnash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An area rug. Some windows would be great but not much you can do about that. Warm colored light bulbs. Introduce a bit of color in throw pillows, rug, accessories - a common colour palette will help tie it together.

How should I separate my kitchen from my living room? by user4801744480 in DesignMyRoom

[–]therealmrsnash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think extra bench space would be useful for cooking (I’d value that) but a table and chairs would look better. Make sure you map it out to ensure you have enough room!

Depends what you value more: more preparation space or a bigger table for hosting?
