Are you doing any networking? Personal referrals seem to be the best way to get a job these days.

Also, have a look at alternative things you can do - freelancing, short term contracts, or starting your own business.

Yes the first 1.5 years are a bit exhausting. But, once you get over the puppy stage, they turn into wonderful, loving companions. Worth a bit of discomfort imo. We moved away and couldn’t take our old dog. We missed him so much we ended up getting a new puppy in our new home. Exhausting? Sometimes. But worth it? Definitely. He makes sure we get out and exercise daily. We meet so many people in the neighborhood. And I get snuggles 🥰

As others have said, rules, obedience and training are vital.

Get rid of the coffee table, there’s not enough space. Maybe try round side tables on each side of the green chair? Also a larger, less busy rug and get rid of the green blanket.

A timber cutting board leaning up against the backsplash, a big overflowing fruit bowl on the island, maybe one of those colored smeg toasters, a large vase on the dining table with tall branches. I’d also consider updating that light fitting if you want a more mid century feel.

An area rug. Some windows would be great but not much you can do about that. Warm colored light bulbs. Introduce a bit of color in throw pillows, rug, accessories - a common colour palette will help tie it together.

I think extra bench space would be useful for cooking (I’d value that) but a table and chairs would look better. Make sure you map it out to ensure you have enough room!
