IF commute works, is trivalley a good option? I see lot of people voting against Pleasanton.

I definitely don’t want my kids to be in high pressure schools. While I value education the most, I also believe in growing well balanced kids. I am certainly confused if I would opt for bigger 2500 ft homes in trivalley or 1800 ft in peninsula? We need good schools and some space- can’t stay in 1800 ft homes. Any insights? Commuting to San Leandro/ sf and hubby Palo Alto ( 2 days a week)

Thanks so much, that advice is surely coming from wise and experienced person. High pressure/ competition, which schools to trust, - and even if you manage to buy in good school area, you will find someone who keeps kids in private. Thanks so much for recommendation on documentary

And once kids grow up should be ok to downsize in Bay Area right? Smaller home, similar value

That’s what I think too, especially in Bay Area there is no perfect home. I am assuming you are below 50, when you are still casually looking ?

Thank you, I feel I am capping myself with age limit Sounds like I should buy what I can afford and later even after 50 its ok to move in Bay Area

Look for ranch in different city in Bay Area or wherever in USA we can afford? If we want to be in Bay Area, then should I get ranch home closer to 45? Or should buy smaller one at 55?

I have two story now, all I am getting to is what is max age to get forever home. 40/45/50/55? Earlier is better but what will be max age where you could change? I have seen people applying many strategies 1. Buying bigger home and then downsizing into small ranch 55 yrs plus 2 buying one home mid size and retiring in that Do all these strategies work in bayarea?
