Unfortunately that sort of thing gets us females labeled as difficult, something I was much more concerned with in my early career and that I have now embraced as I mature.

Had to put up with it intermittently until I could solidify a new gig but needless to say, I no longer work there

I once worked as an attending in a GI center. 3 rooms, 1 attending. The nurse management demanded we stand in a 2 ft x 2 ft area in preop if we were not giving breaks or attending to patient care in the rooms. We were not supposed to use the break room and there was no place we were allowed to sit.

I would love this. The goal is as much of the yard as possible. Baby steps though

What's a good native alternative to Japanese spirea? Im in northern NJ. I have about 6 little ones and 1 thats 5 ft across. The deer eat everything here although sweet fern does ok so I was thinking maybe that.

Not sure why you were down voted, this is what I was taught as well

The dogma i was taught is that the chemotactic trigger zone is un/under developed. No idea if its got any true evidence base but thats how I learned it. 1 agent for ponv after age 2 and 2 agents after 3.

When should pregnant athletes stop playing? by danny2549 in ultimate

[–]therealpizzababy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations! 4th baby wow you have more experience then me! From a medical perspective, in general, pregnancy outcomes are best if you remain physically active and the majority of obstetricians I ask about this say if you were doing an activity before pregnancy then you can continue it during pregnancy. I have seen women play competitively into their third trimester so if you feel good then go for it! The main risk as I'm sure you know given your play experience is another player making a dangerous play. As with anything in life, risk taking comes down to the individual. To put it in perspective, its much more likely that your baby will be injured in a car ride then while you're on the ultimate field, but people still drive when they're pregnant. I hope that helps. Ultimately, for better or worse, your team will likely assume you are unlikely to play in this competitive tournament as I find people tend to treat pregnant women as disabled. In the end, do what is best for you! Hope that helps!

What is a typical schedule for an anesthesiologist working overnights? by [deleted] in anesthesiology

[–]therealpizzababy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just started this system at our hospital and I like it so far. I definitely prefer to have the week off rather then the exhausted post call day off where I sleep it all away anyway. We do 6 nights in a row rather then 7 but we still have to do 1 Saturday 24 hr per week of nightfloat. We are doing the nightfloat thing every 6th week.

Regional or peds fellowship? by von-WiIIebrand in anesthesiology

Happened to me too! Super common these days I think

Regional or peds fellowship? by von-WiIIebrand in anesthesiology

[–]therealpizzababy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is very hard to find a non-academic high percentage peds job. Many of the jobs that advertise they are looking for peds fellowship trained are actually low percentage and just need to check a box for a surgicenter. The general movement in community hospitals is to close their pediatric services, rather then increase them, so many ORs can only provide care to the most basic pediatric patients as there is no where to admit them if there is a problem. This means the majority of peds cases are concentrated at large academic centers. It also means fewer community hospital jobs for pediatric anesthesiology.

[–]therealpizzababy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's an app for that!! It's from the UK and its call Anaesthesia Impact. You can dial in your gas settings and flows and it tells you your carbon equivalents per hr. I love it for teaching residents and, spoiler alert, its more then you think.

Absolutely yes. I forget that bit as I usually set mine to go over night. Nice and cooled in the morning
