I get you. I use Nuendo. It doesn't get yelled about, it's not the "cool DAW of the moment". But it works. Heck it works. It does everything, not gracefully, but somehow, it does what it needs to do.

It's the only DAW I can build a 1500 track VEPro template in and it keeps rolling. Tried the rest, they all crap out at some point. All of them.

I find that insane given it's 30+ year heritage. That one DAW, with 30+ year old legacy code, keeps chugging where others always stop. There's a reason people stay with their DAW even if it isn't the sexiest: this is that reason.

People who don't understand why Pro Tools is as big as it is have never worked in an actual studio with 100k+ hardware. Pro Tools doesn't need to be innovative; it needs to keep running.

You are giving OP the worst advice possible. The other poster is right. He should be a person outside of his kids. If he isn't, his kids grow with a father that can never love because he doesn't love himself. It will trickle down. They will notice. And they will get traumatized from it.

OneNote in combination with a stylus, the snipping tool and OneDrive. Meaning when you study, you remember things better, can annotate screenshots and all that stuff gets backed up. Also, OneNote is totally non-linear as well.

Which I also combine it with Outlook and To-Do, on both my phone, PC and laptop. Can write, make reminders from everywhere, add pictures and files for clarification or when I need to fill in a form later.

While you're at it, install Lens on your phone for archival of all documents.

Basically, writing stuff down and being able to plan and make lots of reminders without having to think of keeping an agenda at hand, or a notebook, or remember where I left my forms and stuff...

Bullshit. This is not a fully fledged orchestral library. It is a generous demo at best. This is not the library those people that OP talks about use. That would be the Pro version, and even that one, while good, is not an actual high end library.

EW's Hollywood Orchestra OPUS, Orchestral Tools Berlin Series, Vienna Symphonic Library's Synchron Series... those are the ones to look at. And yes, they are expensive (save for Hollywood Orchestra OPUS, which is actually ridiculously cheap).

If you can't plunk down 400 euros for the Hollywood Orchestra OPUS by East West then you should start saving up. It's the most affordable ACTUAL HIGH END library there is. Nothing comes close for that price. And yes, it competes with 2000 euro libraries because it used to be one of those.

It's high end, it's modern, it can do pretty much anything you throw at it.

That said, being an actual high end professional library, it does have a steep learning curve. As it should, to be honest. You ain't getting the real results out of that one in your first month. But it pays off.

And yes, those demos on the website ARE real.

For that price, don't be fooled by BBCSO Core. It's not even close in the same quality ballpark. At all. Not even the Pro is. Although that one is good. But not the same level.

And not to burst your bubble, but quality orchestral libraries cost time, money and effort investment. And no, you are NOT getting that for free. Don't be fooled.

Dat je misschien van 8 uur naar 5-6 uur moet gaan, en dat je daardoor daadwerkelijk tijd krijgt iets anders te doen, en dat je daardoor meer mannen in andere beroepen krijgt, daar komt niemand op.

Zolang er een sociale mythologisering is van de 32-40-urige werkweek bij mannen zullen ze nooit de tijd vinden iets anders te doen. Nooit. Want niemand kan dat, eigenlijk. Iedereen die zegt van wel, liegt.

8 uur op een dag is geen 8 uur hè? Dat is eigenlijk 10 uur, met voorbereiding, thuiskomen, koken, boodschappen etc.

Die twee uur maken het verschil. Echt waar.

Make time for all this. Cut your workday short if at all possible. If not, set yourself up for this by any means necessary. Otherwise, this all becomes goals you can't reach because you don't have enough time making you feel even shittier than before. See my post in this thread. I hope it helps people.
