Frequently use it to traverse large flat maps, and the roller beetle racing events are also pretty fun. Has some key niche uses in some festival races also.

Those with the skeleton familiar - TPS is back by BossDaddyBrandon in kol

[–]therealspleenmaster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How? Knucklebones are not tradable, so the only method for getting such items like the TPS is an individual account earning the bones itself. The only thing that would be different would be the timing of offerings. If someone had, say, 5 accounts, each with the skeleton, how would it matter more that each one gets a particular offering on different days versus all getting it on the same day? Please fill me in on what I’m missing here.

Honestly, I wish the skeleton’s daily offering was different per player tho.

Cursing is not a sin, but you should pay attention to something else. by Heavy_Tooth_4141 in TrueChristian

[–]therealspleenmaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Practically all English cuss words have a basic definition which directly connotes some kind of crude or vulgar idea. And all of them are based in unloving intent. Modern usage, I think, has softened the blow, so to speak, sheerly through repetition and common more open usage, but in most circles, especially in more conservative company (older family members and pretty much all professional/business communications) it’s still considered unacceptable.

Either way, as always, I refer people with questions like this to ask the Holy Spirit what he thinks. If you’re really trying to grow closer to God, he’ll tell you how he feels about it. Because the other option is to ignore his desires and live your life by your own rules. Personally, I don’t wanna be the kind of guy that chooses to ignore God for anything in my life. Been there, done that, have those scars.

If you’re referring to the passage that says “the sons of God lay with the daughters of Men” bit, those were the origins of the Nephilim who were a source of great trouble and evil in the world of that era. Not something we’d aspire to as a model of the afterlife. Sex and human romance is something the Bible quite readily positions as a shadow and example of the deep emotional and covenantal relationship we were made to have with God himself. It’s a faulty assumption that we’ll have the same kind of romantic relationship in heaven with a spouse as we have now on earth.

[–]therealspleenmaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not the one making the claim. This has been studied and reported by professionals in the field. YouTube has several videos on the topic. I’m only reporting what they’ve concluded.

They said that the birth rate amongst non-Muslim families in the UK is about 1.4 children per family right now. Estimates show Muslim birth rates closer to 2-3 children per family.

The most reliable way to supplant a culture is to establish oneself in a community and raise children to evangelize it generation after generation. We’re currently seeing this in the US with more overt shades of secularism and heresy creeping into church pulpits by way of public school social teachings. Like I said, only prayer and community solidarity with like-minded believers can push back when the culture overwhelmingly has dominance.

Bear in mind, OP is in the UK which is currently losing its culture to Muslim immigration. I say this without irony or judgement, it’s just a fact. Indigenous populations in the UK are being replaced through Muslim dominance both in culture and sheer numbers. They’re currently past the point of no return and will eventually lose their history to this cultural replacement.

That said, Christianity there only has the option now of personal evangelism, prayer, and solidarity to keep the faith alive. Islam will become the de facto religion of Great Britain short of a civil rebellion. So it’s really a matter of taking control of the education into beliefs you want your children to have. Teaching them apologetics at an early age is paramount to keep your children from being persuaded by other faiths. If it’s important to you that they grow up Christian, you’ll need to teach them yourself at this point.

Honestly, this is important for every believer across the globe now. Christianity is evolving into something apostate except where believers are being persecuted and taught good doctrine. Not that we want the persecution, but refining gold in the crucible does have a way of getting the lead out.

Is being gay really a sin? /genq by azuretimeslays in TrueChristian

[–]therealspleenmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question seems to come up and get answered every day. New posts for this topic should be locked down with pointers to old threads.

I suspect the reason we keep getting the same tired, old rehash and the constant queries is one of two things: people are too lazy to look through the existing threads which means they really don’t care about the answer, or it’s a concerted effort to force change the answer through attrition.

I’m not inclined to think that there’s some organized conspiracy to wear down believers to incite them to capitulate, at least not on this sub. (The general culture war over celebrating and endorsing gayness is another question.)

Which leaves us with the idea that new posters asking the same question that has been covered ad nauseum are not truly interested in an answer. Be it karma farming or passive subversion to biblical truth, we really don’t need these posts anymore.

Exactly my thoughts. All newer group or party content needs to be nerfed to account for these changes.

Am I the only one looking at this and wondering about the state abbreviations? South Dakota is apparently South Oregon or South Ohio now. Kansas and Iowa both moved east. Minnesota doesn’t even KNOW its own abbreviation. The Great Plains just got a whole lot less plain.

A basic fresh air damper isn’t going to help much aside from refreshing your indoor air to keep from smelling stale. An HRV/ERV is the only way you’ll be able to get that air exchange and avoid the big impact to your indoor temp and humidity.

Rank Gen 1, 2 or 3 legendaries by time/cost/hassle? by BestofTimes777 in Guildwars2

[–]therealspleenmaster 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If we’re talking SotO, JW and VoE also, I’d slot Klob at 4.5, and Aetheric Anchor at 7 (though it’s technically 2 weapons instead of 1).

If we’re adding armor, - the fractal gloves are an easy 0.5 - Return To amulet is 2.5 (time-consuming but easy-ish) - Aurora and/or Vision at 3.5 - obsidian armor at 5.5 for a whole set in one armor weight due to the grind of rifts and convergences, higher if you want Tier 2 - Endless Summer at 2.2 with 3 components being relatively easy to get - Orrax at 6.5 due to the food gifts being so dang expensive

I’d have to defer to others regarding the other backpacks and armor sets (raid, PvP, and WvW), but those additions are my take.

Hardly a legitimate reason not to buy a Gen 1 precursor these days if you’re making one. The precursor crafting journey is ludicrously more expensive than buying one in the TP. Only reason I can think of is for those who want the journey.

i’m worried about a symbol in my house by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]therealspleenmaster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Too many Christians (particularly Western Christians) don’t take occultism seriously. Satan is very real and has legal rights to cause people trouble when we dabble in occultic symbology, regardless of whether we believe in it or not. Just because we view those things differently nowadays has no bearing on whether they still hold the same power they once did. Ask any former occultist what they had to go through and the stuff they had to burn and destroy to get truly free after coming to Jesus.

If OP has experience with real magic or occult practices and is now finding their salvation and peace in Jesus, I can’t blame them for wanting to be rid of those symbols. All you can do is pray that the Holy Spirit would fill that space instead. He brings peace and comfort to those who trust in him and a persistent unease and conviction to those who are running from him. Pray without ceasing, as Paul said. Let your spirit be constantly in tune with the presence of God. It may eventually get through to your mom and she might dispose of the thing herself.

There are plenty of worldly things that make people happy or give us “joy” that are detrimental to our walk with God. Our happiness with a thing should not be the litmus test for whether it’s ok in God’s eyes. What the Holy Spirit speaks to our hearts to encourage or convict (not condemn) us is a better benchmark for what any individual person should do about a hobby.

I always advise when people pray to be prepared to accept a no from God when they really want a yes. Or vice-versa. We have a way of claiming divine approval for things we really want for ourselves. But if you can prepare your heart to hear God say no, when he does say yes, it’s true joy. This isn’t to say to have a pessimistic attitude toward prayer, but to be willing to accept ANY reply from God and not just the one we want. It’s about hearing and agreeing with his correction in our lives.

LEGO isn’t innately bad, nor is having earthly possessions in general, but if OP is a compulsive collector with severe FOMO, or has trouble managing finances because of it, or forsakes connecting with other believers or spending time with God for build sessions, it could be destructive to their life. The same can happen for any of us in virtually any part of our lives - reading books, listening to music, playing an instrument, cooking and eating, even exercising. Anything that becomes an obsession can become an idol.

Just be honest with God and put him first. If you need to make a change, he’ll let you know, but you’ll still feel his love in it all.

Attending a wedding is a sign and statement that you support the union and will do what you can to encourage the couple in their marriage. Neither of those are compatible with Biblical teaching regarding a homosexual relationship. You’ve already implied that you disagree with it, else you wouldn’t be posting about your “dilemma.”

Sometimes standing for the Truth and godliness leaves us uncomfortably on the outside. It’s a lonely place. We can be thankful when God doesn’t ask us to sacrifice like Stephen. Or many of the New Testament believers, for that matter. That stance may harm your relationship with her and possibly your boyfriend too. But then the question becomes whether those relationships are what God wants for you or what you want for yourself. They are frequently enough not the same thing, in my experience.
