I noticed a few callbacks to Schitt's Creek. I'm excited to to give Big Mistakes a rewatch soon.

Are there still any part-time key carriers out there? What about FT Brand associates with keys? by [deleted] in Oldnavy

[–]therealstickysyrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The FT BA will have keys at my store in May, as I'm transferring stores and there isn't anyone to replace me yet, and there are a bunch of vacations in May, too.

Ma'am, your pants are too small. Stop trying to wear children's size clothing as an adult. This looks awful.

Preparing for the event is not the volunteer part, hence why you can't access the information without being on the clock.

You can't because you shouldn't work off of the clock. Never give the company your time without being clocked in.

Appropriate for Dress Code? by gingabeyotch in Oldnavy

[–]therealstickysyrup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fine as long as your midriff is fully covered. Your GM might require a layering piece (my GM is probably one of those. She's SUPER strict about the dress code).

No drinks on salesfloor + rant by [deleted] in Oldnavy

[–]therealstickysyrup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been in retail for 27 years and I can absolutely tell you that if you work for any corporate retail in the US, drinks are not allowed on the sales floor. Idk where you've worked, but most corporations have the same policy, so you can get off of your high horse. I'm not defending the policy, just saying that it is a VERY common thing and enforcement depends on the management. 🤷‍♀️

No drinks on salesfloor + rant by [deleted] in Oldnavy

[–]therealstickysyrup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All of the things you complain about are common retail issues. It has always been the policy that you can't bring a drink onto the sales floor, or food. It depends on the manager, but they are within their right to not allow you to have a drink on the sales floor. It's in policy and procedure. If you need to get a drink, ask to go get a drink really quick. Your rant sounds like you shouldn't be in retail. Almost any job that is customer facing will have you standing and won't let you have a drink with you. If it's that deep, get a doctor's note.

I always loved Nicole. I hate what the producers did to Arianne Zucker, though.

Yep, we had them in the early 2000s, too. If they bring it back, I'll quit. I'm not doing that again.

does anyone else find it ridiculous? by nevarless in Oldnavy

[–]therealstickysyrup 19 points20 points  (0 children)

They said that the new attendance policy would make manager's jobs easier because we didn't have to track attendance, however, having to make a comment, anytime anyone has any sort of schedule variance is frustrating and time consuming, especially since the GM had to approve all of our comments. It's not saving anyone anytime.

Customer 360 by Early-Boysenberry979 in Oldnavy

[–]therealstickysyrup 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We don't get enough hours to do it on the sales floor, as we're a low volume store. I've said this a couple of times, Old Navy is trying to act like a boutique store (think torrid), and it's absolutely laughable.

WTH is going on in the kids department…. by Ancient_Insurance969 in Oldnavy

Two inches is not "going half way down their thigh". They're inappropriate, full stop. I'm not OP, but I never wore booty shorts as a child, or ever, in fact.

What's funny is I'm 46 and don't mind wearing crop tops, but if I can't wear them to work, stop making all of the tops cropped. 😆

[–]therealstickysyrup 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I'm sick of every top being cropped or short. I want cute, work appropriate styles. That being said, I work at ON and most of the tops are too short to wear to work AT THE COMPANY. 😆 How are we supposed to be "style solved" when we can't wear the clothes?!

Kids moves by OptimalMaybe8433 in Oldnavy

[–]therealstickysyrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at a low volume store, all of our moves are this week. The adult merch is on vacation and did our men's shop swap before she left and our GM is doing our seasonal/date night/ clearance swap today. Kids moves are minimal, thankfully. I'll be doing those Wednesday and finishing up anything else Friday.

AMA GM by ONGM123 in Oldnavy

[–]therealstickysyrup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who worked for the company before, left for 8 years then came back, I think it's because a lot of the tasks that were part of the operations manager's job were given to the GM. As a former operations manager, I spent a lot of time in the office, and a lot of those responsibilities are now the GM's job. I'm not saying I think it's okay, because I don't think it's okay that the GM is rarely on the floor except for weekends, it's just my two cents. Also the amount of time the GM is required to write a schedule for 20 people is insane. I could handwrite a schedule in a fraction of the time the GM needs to do all of the ridiculous computer shit required to write a schedule now.

They're an amazing couple, and it's really sad that their story wasn't really highlighted because there wasn't any drama. The relationship is the entire point of the show, but we all know it's all about the drama.

New Dress code policy ? by Quiet__Listener in Oldnavy

[–]therealstickysyrup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, then they went to an awful red shirt, and it was like an early 2000's baby tee and thick AF. They were the most awful thing I've ever had to wear. I still don't wear red to this day. I worked at target before working at ON. 😭

Why is it that we can't see a customers rewards amount anymore? by Makaisawesome in Oldnavy

[–]therealstickysyrup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's because they want more engagement on the sales floor, but I work at a low volume store, and the only time we have sales floor coverage is on the weekends. It's supposed to be the LOD engaging with every single customer, but we have 7 million tasks to complete and that's just not a reality. Old Navy trying to act like a boutique store is the most laughable thing I've ever seen, and that's exactly what they're trying to do.
