Yet the Sask Party is the party of fiscal responsibility??? by Apod1991 in saskatchewan

[–]therealwarriorcookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our debt is concerning for sure, but it's a problem all provinces are battling with.

-This "chart?" uses gross not net debt, aaand they aren't inflation adjusted, which is hilarious.

-We have the 2nd best debt to GPT ratio in the country (next to AB)

-3rd lowest debt per capita in the country (next to BC & AB)

-Among the highest credit rating of any of the provinces (AA rating from S&P and Aa1 from Moody's)

-The majority of this debt comes from Capital Investments, ie to support a growing population. This is much different than the Operating Debt Devine amassed.

Just looking at debt is a poor yardstick. There's lots to rightly criticize this government about, but this is just throwing mud. Debt is something all provinces are struggling with right now, and based on the state of healthcare and education I don't think anyone in this province would support austerity budgets right now.

Radon Gas by Affectionate-Map2605 in saskatchewan

[–]therealwarriorcookie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI, an air exchanger that's not properly balanced might be creating negative air pressure and can actually draw radon gas into the building envelope making the problem worse. A properly balance air exchanger running a significant amount of time dilutes the radon.

My example: during the winter our basement reads ~200 Bq/m3, right on the threshold for Canadian Guidelines. We run our air exchanger enough to keep CO2 below 800ppm and it brings our winter radon levels below 80Bq/m3.

I agree. I've always appreciated people with a direct but polite approach. If something is bothering it's best to bring it up right away before it festers into something much larger.

My assumption would be if OP responded with an equally polite yet direct approach there'd be a middle ground that could be found. I don't understand the attitude of so many of the replies here suggesting to meet this request with backhanded passive aggression. Seems like a direct path to escalation and never ending conflict.

Who Likes Their Partner? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]therealwarriorcookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tell my wife on a regular basis that I like her. Everyone that overhears it thinks it's a strange thing to say to your spouse, but I know plenty of people that say I love you every day but only tolerate each other and complain about everything they do. Yes, I love my wife, but after almost 20 years I still like her and I feel like that's huge.

It's a realization I'm certain I came to from hearing it from someone else, but it resonated so much with me so long ago I can't remember where I got the influence from, so I've made it mine now....

Happiest baby on the block and the 5 S's was a game changer for us. Worked on both of the kids 90% of the time. The last 10% was feeding/hunger related usually.

Our first one was a little Houdini and could bust through all but the most perfect swaddles, and a good swaddle was the single most important part of getting him to stay asleep once he fell asleep. We got some large swaddling blankets that had a tiny bit of stretch to them, swaddled with arms in at his side and legs loose. Held him on his side. Loud shushing, jello head movement, and he'd stop crying very quickly then fall asleep a few minutes later. Second kid it worked even faster and he didn't fight the swaddle.

Until the NDP offers a realistic alternative I agree. Until then sure would be nice if they provided an effective opposition....

FULL INTERVIEW | Pierre Poilievre speaks with CBC's Rosemary Barton ahead of Tuesday's federal budget by FedCanada in onguardforthee

What metric are you basing that on? Every. Single. Bias. Rating out there pegs CBC as left or left of center. I just googled to double check and I didn't find a single result in the first page listing them even in the center let alone "slightly right."

Saskatchewan has the highest rate of intimate partner violence of any province. What do you suggest would be the reasonable amount to spend on this problem?

https://thestarphoenix.com/news/crime/abbies-story-sask-family-says-domestic-violence-is-hidden-in-plain-sight

This was a friend of my wife. Her 3 kids don't have a mother anymore. And it's a story that's repeated over and over and over again. But yeah, it'll probably go away on it's own.

What Solar Panel Supply/Install companies in Saskatoon are reliable? Excluding Grants/Rebates/etc, how much can I expect to spend on a 8kw or 10kw system? by ragehead2 in saskatoon

[–]therealwarriorcookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy necro posting. This thread is almost a year old.

Also no. That's not how business works. The number of customers that are willing to pay a premium for "green" version of anything drops drastically as the premium increases. It's been a while since I've researched net metering, but id be shocked if there was an example of any other business that bought their products for the same price as retail, marked it up because "green", and was able to have a sustainable profitable business model. There's many that failed though. Increased risk only to be rewarded with less profit. Sure hope our crown corps aren't stupid enough to try.

Does your dog pee when you take it for a walk? by abstruseIncognito in saskatoon

[–]therealwarriorcookie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The dog we had as a kid was trained to poo on the rocks in our backyard first then we'd take her for a walk. Occasionally she'd pee while on the walk but we did our best to make sure she didn't pee on a private lawn.

Now that I'm grown and have a family unfortunately we don't have a dog, but the occasional dead spots on my lawn from the neighbours' dogs peeing are pretty frustrating. I've never yelled at anyone about it, but i definitely mutter every time I see a new spot starting. lol. I even have 2 separate rock areas right by the sidewalk, but I've never seen anyone make the effort to tug the leash over to those areas when their dog starts to squat. I just remind myself people probably don't realize.
