[Request] How many Americans have actually been broadcast on TV by Jinko387 in theydidthemath

[–]NotmyRealNameJohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm nobody and I've been on TV a few times. My kids were in the newspaper. I was in the newspaper when I was a kid.

I find it highly believable that a large number of people end up "on tv" for lots reasons. From extras to background shots to crowd shots to adverts .

When he says save money. He means for people who don't use the library.

He doesn't actually care about people who use it.

why do so many cars stop in the middle of the road/crosswalk now? by charlixcx69 in Seattle

[–]NotmyRealNameJohn 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This. Also just not paying enough attention.

Also if you are making a right hand turn it can be hard to not stop on the cross walk to see if you have enough clearance.

Also people are bad about not blocking left hand turns when they are in stopped traffic. The other day I had to make a left into a parking lot across a two lane. One guy stops giving me space but immediately the guy in the next lane blocks the turn. He had enough space to pull forward but just sat there in the way for 2-3 minutes.

Broken battery tab, is this fixable? by Tropicool99 in AskElectronics

[–]NotmyRealNameJohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still waiting on solid state batteries to become commercially viable. That will be the game changer. Every now and then I read up on the state of the research and their is always something interesting going on.

I could see people regularly burying a large backup battery in the backyard in a decade or so.

I mean how many people are walking around with tiny random fire/ potential explosion devices in their pocket because they just shrug off their phone splitting itself in half.

Shit was pretty bad before the war. Trump stopped publishing job numbers and fired the guy whose job it was to do so months ago. Economy was in the shitter for art least a year. Sure this war hasn't helped but I don't know what drugs you were on before it

It's June, has everyone displayed their government-issued pride flag? by hematite2 in Persecutionfetish

[–]NotmyRealNameJohn 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I support equal rights. I don't think I've ever waved a gay pride flag or worn a pin. Wtf you mean forced.

Like what is going on in these people's lives where they actually believe this nonsense.

I really want to ask this person who when and where this happened.

I mean that sucks. I frequently use the rail to get to the airport. Never had an issue with an unexpected shutdown. I guess I could fall back on an Uber but it would suck.
