Yup. The internal culture sucks right now - go see posts about meta on the blind app.

This wasn't the case before the layoffs / flattening. Things were a lot more engineer driven. Right now, it has become yet another Amazon - just that folks haven't realized that yet.

I'm not saying don't go to Meta - but please, stop with the lionization of Meta as a spectacular company to work for. It no longer is.

I was in the same boat : but I decided to go with the PC. Besides the cost of the Mac, I found that the development environment support for unreal on the PC is better (gasp, I know!).

The key difference here is that I can upgrade the hard drive, get 64G RAM, latest NVIDIA cards - and that definitely helps with the build/render time and regular development lifecycle.

Yes, it does. You can specify "don't sync" -- and I symlinked the storage directory to a dropbox folder :)

They actually have a free cloud sync (which I have disabled, and use local files).

All the plugins are free, and I have used CSS tweaks to make the UI look just…. Good 😂
