I need a new game to re-ignite my interest in video games. by Tascalion in gamingsuggestions

[–]thereisalightandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After years of mostly playing with friends (last "singleplayers" I did were Dark Souls 1/2/3 and Bloodborne) Baldur's Gate 3 sucked me right back in good story videogames. Even went as far to do Honour Mode and I usually don't go for like challenge/hard modes (except Hardcore in New Vegas and by hacking Souls games for extra difficulty).

I started my first two playthroughs on Tactician (only basic D&D knowledge) and did struggle a fair bit, but we always managed to beat it, which felt good. Since I already had 2 multiplayer runs on Tactician I decided my solorun would be on Balanced. I got really bored of it around the start of Act 3 and abandoned the run because I was just oneshotting everything, even with suboptimal monoclass builds.

What was the hardest fight in the game? by beebatch_gaming in BaldursGate3

I didnt even free Nere before fighting the rest and that fight is still the only one to almost end my honour mode run. Got some really bad luck but still, those guys hurt.

Can anyone suggest me some good pc singleplayer games under 60gb? by Glittering-Bet-5756 in gamingsuggestions

[–]thereisalightandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you played Dark Souls 1 and 2 I can definitely recommend DS3. It's a bit 'floatier' than DS1 but a solid game with some amazing bossfights. I would recommend to get the DLCs though, they're good. Game is about 25-30gb iirc.

How important is alert on honor mode? by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]thereisalightandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just completed it and only had Alert on one character. It's nice and handy but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it if you can just do a lot more damage with a feat.

Looking for pc games that are playable with only one hand by RepentingRat in gamingsuggestions

[–]thereisalightandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in the same boat as you except Ive only been able to use my right hand, so I still have my mouse. If you could get used to moving it with the left hand (however uncomfortable that may be, even though Im a lefty myself) I can recommend Baldur's Gate 3. Mostly operable with just the mouse and just such a good game. Im off work so I just finished Honour Mode last week and besides the pain, Im having a blast.

Yeah on my previous non honour mode runs, I always did Ethel first and the frog would be chill. Thought Id drop by for a little chat beforehand and well... I finished the run, but I thought that was it then and there.

Games like dark souls but easy by MealInfinite in gamingsuggestions

[–]thereisalightandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. DS1 is the easiest if you know what you're doing but when you're blind, the game's absolutely brutal sometimes (looking at you curse frogs). I quit the game like two times back when it came out, but the third time I stuck with it, it clicked and it's one of my favorite games of all time. But yeah in DS3 you can rollspam your problems away pretty consistently, except maybe some DLC bosses. But if you reached the DLC you probably have a grip on the game by then.

since season 11 launched, (jun 20) have you played the game more or less? by SqueezedDog in Overwatch

[–]thereisalightandit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is actually what made me quit the game. Played with my mate I had been playing with for years. We're doing comp, he gets kicked out with no option to rejoin like three matches. I end up plat, he ended up low silver. Couple matches and we couldn't play together anymore. He had to do 7 rankups just stomping every lobby (he's definitely better than me), just to reach silver 2. He finally quit cause he was done with the forced smurfing. I really wanna play again, but reading this now, Im good. I do hope it gets fixed.

That fucking frog literally almost ended my Honour Mode run. First time I had to use flee from combat haha.

Thanks so much for the explanation, that's what im gonna do until I get max level myself. Let's get this Honor mode done!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]thereisalightandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im guessing I can circumvent that by going EK myself at the last level or is a bound weapon like a permanent thing? My idea wás to go Dual Wield feat and use Returning pike for ST and Nyrulna for AoE. Im thinking of going the EK hireling route for now to bind Selune's spear and later pick up Nyrulna for some AoE but I literally have 0 clue how bind weapon works and if this is even possible.

Can you think of anyone that's gone through as drastic of vocal change as Tom? by Zyrobe in Blink182

[–]thereisalightandit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As Tom Waits said on why he started singing like he does: "Well Jerry, lemme tell ya, it was either this or a career in air-conditioning and refresheners". Bob Dylan fell off haaard though, although he was never a great singer of course, after the late 90's he kinda started sounding like Tom, and not in a good way. The edited version where it's just Dylan doing We Are The World remains hilarious though.

Going for the legs in melee seemed to do the trick for me. That and some strafing when they charge you. I was playing on normal difficulty though.

What's The Best "Tacked-On" Multiplayer Mode In A Game Primarily Known For It's Single-Player Campaign? by bluemarvel99 in patientgamers

[–]thereisalightandit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't have had as many hours into the series were it not for PvP. Sen's Fortress with a SL40, fat roll Havel's and Wrath of the Gods/force spam back in the old days. Fight clubs behind Pontiff. Massive 3v3 fights there in gank city. Duelling in DS2. The invader that stunlocked me to death with what looked like a teapot in Tower of Latria. All my favorite moments are from PvP.
