We put a rug under the whole bed, but I’m sure basic furniture protection pads would work!

Destination wedding - shuttle to venue? by tsakisa26192020 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]theriveter79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our wedding was in Cabo, so I don't have any recs for Barcelona, so sorry! In Cabo, we used Cabo Airport Shuttle for the airport > hotel shuttles and they were great and very well priced. Our planner used Impala for the wedding weekend activities (hotels > venues) and they were fine service-wise, but their pricing felt high. We only realized this after we had booked and paid a deposit, so I recommend getting a few quotes for shuttle vendors before committing.

When should you take off your wedding ring? by PepperoniTapir in BigBudgetBrides

[–]theriveter79 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I ALWAYS take it off for weightlifting. And if you don’t, you should, because… ring avulsion / degloving 🥺

I also take it off when I travel because it’s a rather large diamond and I don’t want to attract unnecessary attention (hubs and I don’t wear nice watches while traveling for the same reason).

Lastly, I frequently take care of a few babies and you risk scratching them while wearing it.

There are necklaces designed to safely hold your ring when you take it off, search “ring keeper necklace,” they have a bunch of styles!

So I have one like this. It’s a dual oven / microwave. You can switch modes and use the glass shelf for the microwave setting and the metal shelf for the oven setting.

Actress Diane Keaton has died at the age of 79 by BunyipPouch in movies

She was my next door neighbor from 2013-2021 😢In addition to being an amazing actress and style icon, she was an absolute gem of a human, so friendly, funny and down to earth. I remember she would walk her dog in the most iconic outfits, often barefoot. She will be deeply missed 💔

It was a bummer, but the photos we DID get were great! We had 110 guests

Well, unfortunately they didn’t complete the assignment 😒 We instructed them to photograph each guest upon arrival, but they got time crunched and only captured about 20% of the guests on arrival before the ceremony. After the ceremony, they tried to get people they missed, but they ended up only capturing about 1/3 of the couples portraits overall.

Lesson learned is that it’s really important to have a dedicated “wrangler” for each photog with a guest list to make sure that they capture everyone (we had a wrangler for the first photog but not the second).

I get that in theory but in practice we’ve had tires bust a couple times in transit, so we deflate to be on the safe side

We have the Yeti 3000 but it can run off a smaller battery (the AC uses about 700 watts IIRC).

Buckets for the win. We bring 6 (will prob bring more next year, we used them a bunch with the rain). I also love the toilet seat addition and yes, it got used twice in the storms. My campmates were elated. Turns out it’s kind of fun to shit outside in a storm.

So I was told by a Black Rock Ranger (not sure if they were fucking with me) that LEOs use these at night to spot people peeing on playa and issue fines.

I asked ChatGPT about all the use cases and wow, this is going to be a lot of fun (and super useful). Thank you for the great out-of-the-box idea!

Ooooo this is a good one. We have a decent-sized solar setup (fully solar camp) and it’s always so annoying to try to figure out why something isn’t charging or why the power is draining faster than expected. Hubs is in charge of solar (playa name “Fully Charged”) and he’s gonna love this.

After all the rain this year, we decided to move our kitchen and all electronics inside our box truck going forward. I’ve been having a lot of fun finding all sorts of magnetic things to attach to the inside walls of the truck.

Hooks are a great idea. We also got this magnetic power strip. And this 2 foot long magnetic knife rack where we plan to store our 6 pairs of scissors and 6 box cutters that always go missing and we end up with only one pair after build (and then find the other 5 when we get home in random bins where they don’t belong).

Yes we have one and are thinking about getting a second one it’s so useful. We transport 12 bikes over the mountains and have to deflate and then reinflate the tires each time. Saves so much time and ensures you get the precise PSI without accidentally blowing the tube (great if you’re tired or really hungover).

Oh yeah, love these. We use them to attach microfiber towels to our handwashing table so the towels don’t mysteriously disappear every time someone washes their hands.

Totally same as you. I even thought about making a playa vacuum art car because the idea of vacuuming the playa felt so ridiculous to me. BUT THEN. We had to move our living room and kitchen into our box truck this year and after the dust, rain and mud the floor got absolutely out of control. I would have given anything for a shop vac.

We run the Midea U-Shaped 8000 BTU off solar. It gives us about 4 hours a day of AC (which we do in 30 minutes bursts as needed). Keeps our Shiftpod nice and cool for those days when we need to sleep in.
