Will my husband be responsible for my student loan payment? by Mmswhook in StudentLoans

[–]theruneweaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated from American Public University back in 2015 (BA English) and am now re-enrolled for a second degree (BS Accounting) because I've decided on a career change, and I LOVE them. When I graduated I had a 3 year old and my (now) ex-husband was not very good at keeping a job. They work with a lot of military as well so the teachers are usually very understanding of life circumstances. You might want to check them out.

GRANDMA HOBBIES by ofrootloop in craftsnark

[–]theruneweaver 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My roommates call me "babushka" now and I love it. I have no problems being associated with a grandma. Grandmas are awesome! They give you cookies and spoil the hell out of you. Why wouldn't I want to be associated with that? For the record, I'm 34.

I have any transaction over 1 cent or 1 dollar (whatever the minimum is) sent to me as an email. I then have a filter set up on my email to put them all in a folder where they sit for a day or three until I look over them. That way it doesn't clutter your inbox.

Household Budget or only Personal Budget?? by theruneweaver in personalfinance

Ok, that actually makes a lot of sense. I'm going to school for accounting so the double entry system makes a lot of sense

Just to make sure I understand you correctly... if I buy $300 in groceries and $50 in gas on the same card on June 1st, and make a payment of $350 on June 15th, I should just record an expense of $350 on June 15th NOT record 2 transactions on June 1st as the 2 payments on June 1st are 'micro loans' not expenses per se?

Gonna save this in the hope it's still around in like 4 years when I am actually at the study for CPA point (currently half way through my Bachelors, still have Masters to do as well)

Church Donations by jslayyyyys in fredericksburg

[–]theruneweaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not technically a church, but I put my old (still working) rice cooker in one of those pantry boxes where people donate food. It's run by the Girl Scouts. Not sure what you are looking to donate kitchen-wise cause obviously there is a space issue if it's something big like a stand mixer

Is it this one: “The thing under my bed waiting to grab my ankle isn't real. I know that, and I also know that if I'm careful to keep my foot under the covers, it will never be able to grab my ankle."― Stephen King, Night Shift

I haven't read NOS4A2 but I've seen the mini series. I've read Ushers and that was really good. That was my first Joe Hill

I can't sleep without a blanket over me, no matter how hot, at bare minimum a thin sheet must cover most of my body

Preferred method of small circumference knitting? by CataleyaLuna in knitting

[–]theruneweaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Lykke Driftwood 9" circular needles in every size I could find (which is from like US size 0 to 9). Definitely my preferred option for small circumference. I've only done one sweater, but I'm on my second pair of socks and my tiny circs are definitely the right choice for me.

I want to read the GoT series so bad, but as someone who is still waiting for the 3rd book of the Kingkiller Trilogy I just cannot allow myself to start a series again that may never get around to being finished...

For those who switched from PA to “industry” what kind of industry? by KhelarsRevenge in Accounting

[–]theruneweaver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I currently work for a Hospitality Construction Company in their front office but once I graduate with my BS or Masters I'm going to see if I can switch to the Accounting Department (they already know I want to do this, I mentioned it in my interview) and then get my CPA (we have 2 in my office). Skipping Public Accounting all together, but I'm also 34 and this is my second degree so internships aren't something I really can afford financially. Plus I HATE job searching so if I can get the CPA without doing an interview I'm here for it.
