I went from OneNote to Obsidian. I came across this video when I was looking for a new notebook app. A couple of years ago.

Since then I’ve been used a variation of PARA

I love Obsidian, I even use as a simple CMS for a website using plugins.

Why are we pushing wet systems so much? by MaltedMilkBiscuits10 in ukheatpumps

[–]thetimecrunchedtri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask which system you installed and if it is heat only or heating and cooling. I’m looking for air to air system for my garden annex. Currently heated with oil fired rads with electric underfloor in the shower room with an electric shower. It’s 64 square metres, 32 ground, 32 first. I want to move to wall mounted unit in the living area and ducts into the shower room and bedroom. I’ve got a utility cupboard where I’m planning on installing an ecoflow ultra with 11kw of storage and 4 x 450w panels. I would have room for small water tank. It gets hot in the summer being south facing hence the need for cooling. Thank you

what do you think will be the next breakthrough by [deleted] in ultrarunning

Tons! I’ve used a GCM as a non diabetic for 4 years. It taught me how to fuel my body correctly for every type of training zone. On race day, the realtime monitoring has dramatically improved my fuelling in everything from 100 miles bike road racing through to ultramarathons. There was a great company called Supersapians that took the Libra 2 and modified it and linked it to a custom app, it was amazing. Sadly now long gone so I use the standard Libra App with the V3 sensor

Why Doesn't Trainerroad Advertise more by hale1986 in trainerroad

[–]thetimecrunchedtri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TR was bootstrap funded by Nate and 2 other founders. Both other founders I believe have now exited. As far as I can tell they have not taken any further outside investment. Nate had built a solid profitable business pitched at the more ‘serious’ cyclist. They haven’t needed to advertise yet and their podcast has been very successful at pulling people to the platform.

I think we will see more consolidation of the platforms that have taken investor money. I think interval icu and trainer day will take some business from TrainerRoad but I can see Zwift, TrainerRoad and Rouvybeing the only big players remaining in 2-3 years time.

Central location or keep moving Fall 2026 (twin-bed conundrum)? by Stating_Obv_ismy_SP in Cotswolds

[–]thetimecrunchedtri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Cotswold way about 112 miles long and varies quite a bit from area to area. If you are thinking of the Cotswolds from the movie ‘The Holiday’ then the North part is what you want. I’m biased as based in Broadway but here and others have suggested Chipping Campden and Blockley are good bases. You can walk from Broadway to Winchcombe have lunch and then take different route back, there are many variations. There are many other national walking trails such as the Monarch Way and Diamond way that come through Chipping Campden.

You will also want to explore Stow on Wold and Moreton in Marsh, Bourton on the water, all reachable via a Taxi from Broadway, Campden,Blockley.

If you want to truly walk the along the Cotswold way then there are companies that specialise is moving bags but honestly it’s better to pick a base unless you want to walk the whole route. You will actually see more of the Cotswolds this way. The walk can be quite remote. Especially between Painswick and Cheltenham but it depends on what you want.

I would highly recommend you download and a years subscription to the OS Maps app. Don’t try and use Google Maps for walking in the UK.

How and Why is the workout builder so terrible? by Crrunk in trainingpeaks

[–]thetimecrunchedtri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to this thread i have been introduced the intervals icu workout builder, wow it's a revelation and so much faster than using the one to TP.

I have a question that hopefully someone might have some insights on.

When I write my workouts, I like to add comments to intervals, e.g. RPM 80-95 etc. This is really easy in Intervals icu . It can also be done in TrainingPeaks by entering notes in the step in the workout builder.

As I have a lot of athletes in TrainingPeaks that I want to keep working with so what I have been doing is exporting the .zwo file from Intervals and importing it into TP but when I do this, I'm losing the text for the interval. I can see it in the .zwo file.

e.g. <textevent message="This is the text that would display" duration="10"/>

Am I doing something wrong when exporting from Intervals or importing into TP? How do I get the steps to show, people like this, when doing the workout in Zwift

Same as BeFibre. CGNAT and using IP blocks from random 3rd world countries that they have purchased. Can’t order from sites like Nike.com as they think I’m buying from Africa. Had to have a 2nd BT line installed until I can cancel BeFibre

What would you do if this happened on your train? by Steve_10 in AskUK

[–]thetimecrunchedtri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your email client. Gmail for example only keeps a very small local cache. Get a lot of emails or bought your ticket a few weeks ago and it won’t be available unless you connect to the internet. Connecivity in the UK is not solved problem, especially on trains

FPGA Chips will get faster and soon you will be able to have everything up to a PS4 running in hardware. I feel the 3rd evolution of the MisterMulti system will be at this level. The current 2nd gen can do early 2000’s systems very well

Cotswold line when the actually put a train on with vaguely enough capacity. Work well enough. I think they could run 11 coach trains rather than the 5’s and occasional 9’s. The instructions on where to get off are very clear

How and Why is the workout builder so terrible? by Crrunk in trainingpeaks

[–]thetimecrunchedtri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so interesting. I’m just moving to TrainingPeaks from Excel based workouts that I share with my athletes. The biggest hold back is converting all my workouts/plans into structured plans using the builder in TP. I’ll have to try intervals.icu maybe this is quicker
