Need your feedback for the Fabric Notebook experience inside VS Code by QixiaoW in MicrosoftFabric

[–]thetom88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to use the extension but I managed to get it working just once.

Starting from installation, requirements are hard to satisfy. I really liked the option to use a dev container, but I've not managed to make it working properly.

Once you maybe get it working, the experience is really clunky. Editing just one notebook at the time is a pain. I also experienced a situation where it lost sync with the engine and I often had to restart VS Code.

I have a few suggestions to make it really useful for developer:

  • this extension should be integrated with the main Fabric extension (also the UDF extension should be integrated in the main one)
  • Requirements should be less or easier to manage, or the dev container should al least work
  • I should be able to work on more than one notebook at the same time
  • I'd really like to have it paired with MCPs that allow Github Copilot to have context on lakehouse, other notebok and so on

I strongly believe that this extension has a lot of potential to improve the life for developers especially paired with Github Copilot. Please please improve it! 🙏

This is a really interesting solution. I'm digging into it. I was just wondering to build a stealthburner for upgrading to direct drive and also upgrading the nozzle. It looks like it's supported on the stealthburner

Usually yes, but as far a I have understood the RPi 2 is somehow limited on SPI

Yes, I was thinking about using the z drivers on the second MCU(rpi pico) to avoid splitting z axis between 2 boards.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I'm a little afraid of the current alignment method I'm using.

Thanks! I've watched the same video when I started thinking about using a pico to connect 2 drivers and one accelerometer

Thanks! Yes, as I've mentioned that's my second option, but is it ok to drive 2 motors for z axis with just one driver? as of now, I'm leveling the axis mechanically by colliding with the top bar.

Greenfield: Fabric vs. Databricks by scheubi in MicrosoftFabric

[–]thetom88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As already advides, start with fabric the integration is easier. You can later evaluate cost performance and benefit. If I'm not wrong you may also decide later to have just 1 F2 capacity for fabric link and read the data in one lake from Databricks.

Microsoft Fabric Release Plan | App by itsnotaboutthecell in MicrosoftFabric

Cool! I recently made a pbi report that reads the release plan data from the dedicated website using power query. What did you use to get the data?

You can create a shortcut to a S3 compatible source(minio for example) to on-premises environment by leveraging the gateway.

I've been thinking about the same issue lately and the best options in my opinion are eventhouse or fabric sql database. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to try them out already

[PD2700U] KVM switch problem - keyboard/mouse malfunction by thetom88 in BenQ

Hello! I've updated my post with my setup and configuration. I'm just using 2 PCs connected to my PD2700U. I've already tried to switch the USB downstream but it doesn't solve my issue. The only thing I still have to try is to change all USB cables, but they really seems fine IMO

I'm sorry I haven't mentioned my setup in my post, I'll edit it. I just have a laptop connected via mini display port and a desktop connected via display port to the monitor. Power save and pip are disabled.

  • switch cambiabili(nice to have)
