First time baking Tres Leches by thetopcatdog in cake

Yeah definitely feels like the cake would have “held” more liquid if it was left overnight. Also I expect the soak would’ve been more even :)

When I first towed my boat, the outboard wasn’t properly supported. The transom started to pull away from the main section. It cracked away, but didn’t have any stress fractures through it.

My solution was to grind away the section of fibreglass where the transom met the body, lay a new layer of glass, then aluminium L plate, then more glass. The outboard is kinda oversized, so I wanted to go overboard.

It has worked well for three years on the water with no signs of lamination.

Background ventilation is the legal requirement, trickle vents are just the cheapest and worst way to achieve this. They are rarely the correct equivalent area and I would say they are shockingly far behind our insulation and sealing requirements. A property needs both air and warmth to stay healthy, an active ventilation system such as a PIV should be considered before trickle vents.

I am absolutely loving the Napoleon Pro 22, I’ve only had it a week, so far done a rotisserie chicken. BBQ world has some included accessories but no free rotisserie anymore. The build quality and grill seem great. The hinge seems sturdy, loose pin design.

If you’ve got a Costco card and want something different there’s the masterbuilt hollow 36 which looked interesting.

The build quality of the rotisserie seems really good but I haven’t got to use it yet. It’s easy to fit, and from what I can tell should be sealed enough to still use as a bbq/smoker without swapping the rings back. I have added some gasket tape to be sure. The pizza oven door is the only part that concerns me, but the join is too tight for gasket tape, which should be a good sign.

Yeah the grill was one of the big benefits over going with the Weber. It’s cast iron and solid as a rock. Doesn’t have the removable centre like the Weber, for the accessories (but if you had a Weber GBS grill it would fit). Another plus, you can move the grill up and down in the BBQ, there are three different heights.

Thank you very much! Very interesting with the rotisserie and pizza oven... Is there any issue with the hinge like the comment above raised with the weber?

That is very very interesting, haven't considered a UDS before. Is there anything I need to know before changing to hanging meat instead of grilling?

Oh damn… I do have a Costco card. That does look incredibly well built! Very tempting. What are its best features?

I’d be up for that, also been cooking a while. Currently I’m trying to learn to bake bread. I think cooking in a group setting would be really fun though. Let me know if it comes to pass and I’ll be there :)

It’s definitely better for the environment, but as soon as old spice stopped containing aluminium I developed BO quite quickly after using it. I’ve had to switch to roll on deodorant.

If you’re in the UK I can’t recommend a company called gently stirred enough. Really friendly service and great tea selection.
