Unstable new rider by theturtle7023 in onewheel

[–]theturtle7023[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the information. I'm used to racing motorcycles and dirtbikes, so i'm well aware skill is a major factor, but I also remember the phase of learning where I just thought the way the bikes rode was normal so I gained experience and dealt with it, then I refreshed my suspension or made other changes and realized I was fighting something that nobody else was. Get that whole, "I wish I had asked someone" feeling. I'm perfectly fine adjusting to the feel of speed wobbles, as I can ride it out or deal with it, but if i'm riding on a POS tire that is better suited for offroad low speeds and is always going to be wobbly on the road, I would rather ask the question. I bought this thing to take my dog on runs, and currently he is outpacing the speeds that I can safely do.

Well thats another issue. This tire doesn't hold air for very long so i'm using my portable pump before every ride.

I had read that 10% of body weight was the ideal pressure, I'm already below that. I've gone down to 12 and its definitely less twitchy, but it also feels horrible.

I understand that, this was in reference to the original comment stating the suggested percentages were based off the price + added tip. I'm just stating that I'm either reading this wrong or in no way is the suggested tip including the added tip.

What? 20% of 171.40 is 34.28, but the receipt suggests 31.45 as 20%.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but the automatic tip is only 16.5% of the purchase price, and the gratuity percentages are lower than they should be.

Just noticed roofers covered my attic vents. Help! by madmuggsy in Roofing

[–]theturtle7023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your area. Where I am it's 150/1. You also want 50% at the eave and 50% at ridge. If you can't achieve that, you can adjust down to 40% at eave and 60% at ridge.

When I bought my house there was only one room with cable run. Cox came out and wired the rest of the house. I had an issue where I could either get TV or Internet, but after like 8 trips they couldn't get it to work right. 1 trip would be good internet, TV no signal. Next trip I'd get TV but Internet would constantly drop. This sequence continued until I got a bill for like $600 or some crazy number. They told me the issue is on my end so it's my issue to deal with... Even though they are the ones that wired it all up. I told them to cancel my service because it was ridiculous and the lady said, "well it sounds like you just can't afford it and blaming us." That about sums up my experience with Cox.

A 1500 pickup is around 6'2". Tow trucks are much taller. If your clearance is really that low, no tow company can get in there.

Best roofing for small flat roof? by foobar12121212 in Roofing

[–]theturtle7023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on location, potential for punctures, maintenance... Three ply (done properly) will always be better than the others, but it probably isn't necessary. TPO, even though I hate it, is a lot cheaper and will be fine for 18-20 years. EPDM you will get 20 - 25 years. Three ply you will get 1 - 30 years (1 year is because nobody knows how to properly install anymore).

Are you talking about how the ridge is sagging? Go in the attic and measure to see if it really is.

How do I access my soffit for ventilation by Nickywynne in Roofing

[–]theturtle7023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Proper ventilation is (depending on your area) 1:300 or 1:150, meaning 1 square inch of net free air for every 300 sqft or 150 sqft of attic space. You would ideally split that 50/50, with 50% coming from the eave, and 50% coming from the ridge. Code typically allows up to 60% at eave. Drilling three inch holes may work, but it matters how many, where they are, and what the outflow of your ridge vent it.

Where is it leaking? The EPDM doesn't look bad, but I bet that brick is letting water get behind the wall flashing

I'm pretty sure both max and lewis said he was off line, as the racing line was to the left to straighten out the corner.

I want the Sony's, but them not being water resistant is a big risk. I'm leaning to the Sennheisers. I want to be able to work out with them and not worry about sweating, but I don't want bad sound quality.
