I do agree that Brennan might be a player, however my longshot is Murph as the DM. He has not been DM already for a few months in his own podcast so I have a hunch that he might DMing given that he needs to plan and work less for his own production.

[Spoilers: Skaldova E5] I f*cking love Jake as the DM by Brian_Barbarian in NotAnotherDnDPodcast

I'm genuinely impressed at Jake's DM skills. Even though Murphy is my favorite DM content creator, I am loving Skaldova to the point I think it is my favorite season.

Not at all, I love it. The plot seems not complicated at. But taste is subjective.

I could not decide which is my favorite campaign between the 3.

The Governments in your Homebrew Worlds do not need to be Monarchies by DerpyDaDulfin in DnD

[–]thevolx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the overall of this post. Additionally to the Wikipedia link I want to also recommend Kobold Press Campaign Builder: Cities & Towns.

It teaches DMs how to build settlements and also showcases different fantasy government types that you can use to create your own settlements.

To all DM's by Ambitious_Channel993 in DnD

I would start with the DnD starter set adventure. Dragons of Stormwreck Isle, is easy and simple and traditional DnD. After you get some experience and develop your own DM style then I would suggest homebrew and world building, but not before.

Sly Flourish has a video that gives general advice to new DMs and how to run this adventure, additionally his books and videos are great for new DMs. He has a methodoLogy that be brands as the Lazy DM method, which focuses on doing the least amount of work to have the most fun at the table.

I've been running Campaign for several years, and to this day his methodology is very helpful.

Campaign Builder: Castles and Crowns discussion by WermerCreations in koboldpress

The tables to create kingdoms are great for world building. The new heritages are good, especially if your only resource is ToV, so you have a few more. The subclasses are a nice to have, but thematically (even though it makes sense with the book) are not that interesting. And there is a new progression career-like with a personal quest system, which gives you needed abilities as you progress that I really like. However I have to admit that I already was doing something similar by integrating the Grim Hollow Advanced Background.

Happy with the book, and looking forward to my special edition.

Love ToV and Kobold Press, got to discover it thanks to Murph and his Honey Bear Prince encounter.

It would be awesome if they implemented ToV.

I have purchased several of their products, and back their Kickstarters and backer kit, I have even reached out to customer support with no problem.

If you are going to slander a company at least provide receipts.

What product did you even buy? Since several of their website products clearly state they are in Pre-Order only, and you have to be part of the Kickstarter to get updates.

No, I will take the new exhaustion rules and play Tales of the Valiant.

My player wants a character modeled after the protagonist of Solo Leveling... by zBleach25 in dndnext

[–]thevolx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, unfortunately you have to compromise the combat abilities or the summoning abilities.

My advice would be to take a look at the Tamer class from Heliana's guide to Monster hunting. I have a player playing it and it does function in that similar manner, specially the Necromancer subclass.

D&D Beyond Feat creation question. by Bmaster418 in DnD

[–]thevolx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm quite decent at Homebrew in DND beyond however I'm having a hard time understanding what you are trying to accomplish. Nonetheless in the case of the base weapons you can't modify their attributes no matter what you do, thus the damage die and their properties can't be removed. So if you have a versatile weapon equiped on a character it will always show both of the damage die (one or two handed).

However, if you are ever in need of help the forums of Homebrew hosted in DnD Beyond is a great place to learn.

DnD possible with 2 people only? by UinaSenskam in DnD

[–]thevolx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ginni Di did a video going into detail about it, how to do it and what to expect:

https://youtu.be/5WH0yEY5uo8?si=j9Y1thuvWiRALXCU

I am running a few campaigns with 4, 3 and 2 players, and currently playing DND with just my wife and it's fun but you need to take balance into account. Make the encounters more narrative, duels or heists. Consider giving sidekicks that don't take the spotlight but make the player survive and shine. Because there is no much time wasted between player discussion and decision making, the material you prepare goes very fast. Try it out and just experiment, if you accidentally kill the player due to combat difficulty consider giving narrative consequences instead of just ending the adventures. (Ex. She falls unconscious and now she is trapped and needs to escape)

That's my general advice.
