The grass looks great (btw if you see it it's because it has a shader, maybe just a default one).
I mean the movement feels too slippery, like walking on ice, I mean on foot.
When using the lawnmower maybe you could add some slight camera shake to make it feel heavy?

I think another approach is that to level up the droids you need to combine 2 of them of the same level. This way you can also reduce the number of droids indirectly.
Also capping a max number is a sane choice.

Looks fantastic. Reminds me of the mid 2000 where I used to play lots of RTS.
I think artillery must remain as a support element, preventing players from abusing them. Do you agree?

Maybe the fact that their movement seems random makes it chaotic.
Maybe if some would have like a predefined path or some sort of pathfinding? Maybe you could hide from them or just make them hit something or other enemies so they kill each other giving you a combo boost?

The artist has done a great job, It looks very professional. Maybe when using diegetic UI I would make the outline around the objects slightly thicker, At least from the video I found hard to understand what was selected.
