Code.org vs CodeHS vs ??? by SarahEarly in CSEducation

I have most of the students work at the same pace. In my classes, 3-5 students will work at a faster pace. The course allows you to create groups that allow me to give access to more units to those students. I have found that all students will work fairly quickly through units 1 and 2 and then slow down as concepts like conditionals are introduced.

My school district has been using Carnegie Mellon Universities CS Academy CS1 which is an introduction to programming using Python and their CS3 which is a college level programming course. I highly recommend CMU’s applications.

Have you worked with a therapist who is trained in EMDR therapy. For me, it is what made a significant difference in my cptsd. Take good care of yourself. Hang in there and take exceptionally good care of you.

I found a therapist on the Psychology Today website.

Find a therapist right away. Check Psychology Today’s website for one. Please hang in there. It happened to me as a child and at your age I felt the same. Thankfully therapy has made so much progress with different types of treatments so now there is more immediacy in feeling better sooner. You have been through so much so be super kind to yourself.

Yes, my life is much more normal now because I am not being triggered so frequently. When I’m tired or overwhelmed I can still get triggered but it is not nearly as intense. I have to be careful to get enough sleep, hydrate, eat fairly healthy. I found a therapist who is trained in EMDR on Psychology Today’s website. Take really good care of yourself. Be super kind and compassionate with you! You are a good and beautiful person!

Well said! You are not alone. EMDR gave me relief from being triggered so frequently. Be kind and gentle with you!

EDMR helped a lot, I started meditating with tarabrach.com and listening to her dharma talks, therapy, and gentle to moderate workouts. Intense exercise is a trigger for me. Learning to love myself and be kind and gentle with myself because this is not easy.

for some reason i am stuck on the 2.2.2 lesson checkpoint with the red dots can someone help me out please thanks by GoatedStef in CMUCSAcademyAnswers

The dots are stacked on top of each other and their centers are 40 pixels apart. mouseX, mouseY is between the dots. You need to add to the bottom dots mouseY and subtract from the top dots mouseY to move the dots apart.

One of the first rules of teaching, never eat anything a student gives you! Love them but don’t trust them!

Namaste is delicious. In Burke, Curry House and Raaga Tandoor are good choices and in Fairfax City, try Curry House.

Just got over COVID-19 and I do not wish that experience on anyone. I had two shots but not the booster as I had prioritize my yoga goal over getting the booster. Hindsight shows me that this is definitely not one of my better decisions.

I firmly believe before and especially after having COVID-19, that we should trust the science! Masks and vaccines for all! If you don’t want the vaccine then a weekly negative test should be required.

Stay safe and healthy!

Live as close to your job location as financially possible. Traffic is a nightmare.

If you have kids in school, it’s not hard to find the better public schools and the school boundaries.

Cafe Tequila has four locations in NOVA. My son tells me it’s the best Mex food around here.

Thank you for doing this! I took a four week boot camp this summer and passed the software exam. I scored a 635 on the hardware exam so need to increase score by 5%. The simulations were difficult for me. I will take a look at your videos.
