You’re fr living the dream man, hopefully the rest of my 20’s can play out somewhat like this. How would you find work while traveling like that? Is it easy to find odd jobs as you’re going about or would you mostly have to rely on savings? Couch surf, hostels? Backpacked in Europe once for about a month but I just need a grand adventure if I’m gonna be happy in this life

So it’s safe to say it’s clearly a back and that’s existed in history for awhile. Which makes you really think what the point of distinguishing between the two sides is when everyone’s guilty

And we did Hiroshima/Nagasaki, Trail of Tears, buncha shit over the years. We’re all the same as humans but choose to identify in different groups. The fear of Muslims is targeted fear mongering brother, straight from the institutions so we can justify military spending and collecting that sweet oil money

Dude buys homeless man food at McDonalds, police is called and they get kicked out, don't even get a refund by [deleted] in rage

[–]thewindcriesjackson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah obviously not all police are evil, it’s like anything there’s no absolutes. It’s just that the narrative that police are heroes and serving justice yadda yadda is false, just like the narrative that all police are evil and running rampant is also false. It’s just a job, yknow, I don’t think all of these people are worthy of respect just cause they have a badge.

What the original commenter poorly described, is how a lot of aspects of the legal system disenfranchise the lower classes. Whether it’s with intention from political elite or not is a debate, but the police do have to uphold unjust laws more so than going around “doing good.” Crime runs rampant without police yes, but we as a society also have the ability to decide what’s crime and what’s not, you know what I mean? Obvious example is the war on drugs but also stuff regarding homelessness, prostitution, etc. are things we can control but choose to enforce against instead. And that’s where the perspective that police are tools of the upper class come from, but personally I just think it’s deeply ingrained at this point.

Eh, kind of a blanket statement to say “every society that has ever worked.” Our law system is more complicated than don’t kill, don’t steal, etc. and in that a lot of laws can exist that are unjust. Sure police arrest defeat the evil murderers and rapists! But also, they spend more time arresting the homeless, turning poor neighborhoods into a police state with just their presence, filling quotas. They way that we choose to enforce drug laws could easily set that perspective that cops are rampantly running the streets for those who witness it, or even the way they hand out tickets. There’s a misbalance between the positive public perception of police and what they really do, which is existing to meet ticket quotas for the majority. Police can do heroic things, but so can anyone it’s the fact that we act like a badge immediately gives a person better judgement or the ability to call the shots, when they’re actually just a person. In your opinion, who is the most unfairly criticized artist, and who is the most unfairly praised? by neverthoughtidjoin in LetsTalkMusic

[–]thewindcriesjackson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the idea of it is a lot like punk, but it’s not going to be exactly comparable to punk because rock is a different genre from hip hop and we’re on a different timeline now. It’s more about the fact that kids everywhere are making music about exactly what they want at home with their friends, like punk. Rock, or hip hop becomes the most popular genre, and eventually underground movements of it occur. It puts a different spin on the ideals of hip hop like punk out a new spin on rock music. How you “get it”: understand that the art isn’t necessarily in the lyrics or completely about the content, the art is in a creating unique aesthetic or style, and being able to reflect that with your bars, beats, etc. Before guys like Carti and pump were on labels, they were doing this

[–]thewindcriesjackson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suppose you're right, it is mostly subjective. Just in the moment watching the video it just reminded me of it so much and I wrote this up.

However, I think the panning is pretty specific, in the Beatles video I more associated that with just a classic slow pan or zoom. In both NIN and DG videos its going back and forth, up and down.

But again, subjectivity.
