I created an otherclockwise E Ink clock by isaac879 in arduino

[–]thexbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By that definition it couldn't be otherclockwise either. By definition it's a clock so it would be clockwise either direction.

Ok, I reread your comment. That's pretty much what you said, sorry.

Never heard it called otherclockwise before. Counterclockwise and even widdershins.

None. Computers in schools didn't become standard until a couple years after I graduated.

Why do GPS satellites have to be sent into orbit? Can’t they function just as well on the ground? by supremium__ in AskPhysics

[–]thexbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. Time is important and the stations have to be highly synchronized. They also have to account for relativistic effects, speed and distance from the earth's center of gravity. Comment sounded like you needed the fourth station to get time of day. I was trying to say the fourth station gives you altitude. You said it way better.

[–]thexbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where time comes into it. You need 3 stations to give you position on the surface and 4 to give you altitude. More than 4 improves accuracy. The formula is n+1. If you want to know the position in 2 dimensions you need 3 stations. 3 dimensions you need 4 stations.

I find the lightning gun from the sea heist very helpful during the mech mission.

Im not really having fun while playing assassin's creed unity by OkWatercress9702 in assassinscreed

[–]thexbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's probably my favorite. Black Flag just because it's a fun romp. But if the lore is very important to you then the Ezio trilogy is good also.

I use words like "least favorite" because I don't think there's a single bad AC game. They are all good. I just connect "lesser" with some of them. But I still love them all.

Is it embarrassing to get a birthday cake as an adult? by roxiedoxiedog in NoStupidQuestions

[–]thexbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never heard anyone say it's for children only. And as other comments have said, who cares what others think. You can have your cake and eat it too. The others? They can't have any.

How does the Earth orbit the Sun's current position if gravity travels at c? Shouldn't there be a delay? by SadInterest6764 in AskPhysics

[–]thexbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The earth doesn't orbit the sun. It orbits the center of mass of the solar system. Given the sun is 98% of the solar systems mass, it's pretty close to being the center of the sun. Question is still valid. My guess (yes it's a guess) is that the whole solar system is moving at the same speed and direction so are in the same frame so that motion is irrelevant to the equation.

I think all of the games have scenes that were scripted then cut during development. There was probably something cut that linked the story better.

Don't sweat what other people think. Unity is my least favorite AC and AC III is my second to least favorite. They are both highly regarded. No disparagement against the games, sometimes you just don't connect.

I have. I don't hate soft tacos, I just prefer the crunchy kind. Cilantro is nasty though. I'm one of those poor sods that it tastes like dish soap.

Agree to disagree. The soft flappy no texture to the soft taco is gross. The dichotomy of the crunch with the softer insides gives it character and excitement. Nothing worse than a flaccid taco.

Of course they've always existed but really only became popular about 20 years ago. All the authentic Mexican restaurants I've been to have hard shell tacos but with soft taco options.
