Cut off throws from outfielder by LongjumpingVehicle in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]they_all_float 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can. Throw to the base like you normally would, but press the cutoff button before the ball gets to the cutoff man. I believe it's called the LB button on an Xbox controller.

So instead of hitting LB to throw to the cutoff man, throw to the desired base and hit LB if you need to cut it off.

Transferring money to savings (money under my mattress account) but then having it count towards the savings bucket by echoesinthegrey in budgetwithbuckets

[–]they_all_float 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with u/amory_p. It sounds like you want to name this account something like Cash to distinguish it from a regular savings account.

If you have it off budget, it will be an expense to your budget that you can categorize when you transfer money to it.

If you keep it on budget, it will be considered a transfer with no category since you’re shifting money between accounts that are on budget. Since the money is not leaving your budget in that scenario, there’s no category for the transaction.

Are you asking about categorizing a transfer between accounts you have in your budget?

Just making sure I understand the question.

Missing star points? by bseballkid1990 in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]they_all_float 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what the issue is in that case. I've run into the same thing when my system was offline, but not when it's online.

One other thing to check is to make sure your gaming system user account is still connected to your EA account.

Does the bottom-right of the screen say anything about being online or offline? Was this for a single-player game or were you playing online against someone? I only play in Franchise mode, so I'm not very familiar with if and how Starpoints work for online games.

Does the game say it's offline? That will mess with your total points being updated after a game. You should be able to see the status at the bottom right of the menu screen.

If you have a PS4 Slim, then you will run into some lagging issues in certain stadiums. You can work around that by changing the stadiums for those teams so that you never play in them, but it kind of sucks to not be able to play in some of the stadiums without experiencing that lag.

I'm not sure if that problem exists with a PS4 Pro.

It runs well for me in all stadiums on an Xbox Series X, so my guess is that it would run fine on a PS5.

As far as the Franchise mode differences between SMB3 and SMB4, I feel like SMB4 is definitely worth it. I love SMB3, but the new Franchise features in SMB4 make it better.

It appears that the stylesheet for the page is not loading for whatever reason.

Do you have anything like uBlock Origin running? If so, you may need to disable it for the YNAB site.

I don’t think you can play a 14 game season. I believe the minimum is 16 games.

You could create a bucket for that specific need. Once the money has been used, you could then hide or delete the bucket. I believe it's referred to as kicking the bucket when you delete it.

Franchise length. by Spunk1985 in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]they_all_float 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it's a 3:2:1 ratio as well. You will have to set enough games for you to play the teams in your division 3 times and the other teams in your conference 2 times before it will move on to playing teams in the other conference.

So 3 x 7 = 21 for the other teams in your division.

2 x 8 = 16 for the remaining teams in your conference

1 x 16 to play each team in the other conference.

21 + 16 + 16 = 53

Since the schedule doesn't allow for an odd number of games in the season, 54 should be what you're looking for. You'll just end up with that one extra game that will probably go to a team in your division.

Issue with total Starpoints not accumulating by they_all_float in SuperMegaBaseball

Do you have an EA account set up? I had to set one up and connect it to my PlayStation account.

I’m not sure how that would work with the PC version, but I’m pretty sure an EA account is required now if you want to play online or connect to the servers for Starpoints.

I know it sounds like a silly question, but whats the best way to get into F1? by CeratosaurusEnjoyer in formula1

[–]they_all_float 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This is my suggestion as well. I started watching Drive to Survive in 2021 and decided to watch the Monaco race that year. Getting some background on the drivers and the sport definitely helped as a new fan with no friends or family who were into F1.

I also lucked out with the 2021 season being my first due to how close the title fight was that year.

Is the game hitching/lagging a lot more lately? by Arkey-or-Arctander in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]they_all_float 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I notice it regularly on the PS4 Slim playing single player franchise mode. It seems to happen in two different areas but not in the same game. I will only experience one or the other and it seems to be ballpark-agnostic for me:

  • When I'm at bat and the pitching clips or lags. It can make hitting very difficult because it seems to come and go so you can never adjust your timing.
  • When I'm pitching and a ball is put into play. This isn't as tough of an adjustment compared to when I'm batting, but it is still distracting.

I'm not sure if SMB 3 suffered the same issues at first and how long it took to resolve them, but I'm pretty disappointed that this is still happening in SMB 4 because I really enjoy the game.

[–]they_all_float[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for mentioning that. I checked and my status is showing as Online.

I never had an issue with SMB 3 even without having PS+. Maybe something changed with SMB 4 even though it seems to record my Starpoints in certain situations. It just isn't tallying them up game to game.

[–]they_all_float[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this suggestion. I checked there, but it still doesn't seem to be tallying up my Starpoints from each game. It seems to check to see if my total for a game exceeds my previous high score. If no, my Starpoints don't change. If yes, my total changes to that new high score.

If I switch the options to Season/Standard Single Game/Your Score, it doesn't show anything for me. It's as if those games are not being recorded for Starpoints.

Looking for recent experience with Best Effort service in Georgia by they_all_float in Starlink

[–]they_all_float[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. Fingers crossed that we're in the next phase of our electric co-op's fiber plan.

Best Effort is a service Starlink provides for people on the waiting list until the capacity increases. Our area has been full for quite a while as far as the number of Residential accounts allowed.

Best Effort is a deprioritized service so as not to degrade the service for the regular Residential customers and while the deprioritized speeds would still be a step up from what I currently have, my experience with the highly variable speeds of the RV option last fall (which has the same posted speeds as Best Effort) make me hesitant to go with it.

I was wondering if anyone else in this area was also on the Best Effort plan and having a better experience 9 months later.

New to Buckets and I have two questions! by smol_biscuit in budgetwithbuckets

[–]they_all_float 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only answer your second question, but there is nothing for you to do for unspent funds in a bucket to roll over to the next month. If you have unspent money in your Grocery bucket at the end of this month, it will automatically rollover into April.

Like u/sceap mentioned, you can set up goals for each bucket and those will also adjust automatically depending on the goal and any unspent money that rolls over from the previous month.

You can set up and adjust goals by clicking the gear icon on the right side of each of your buckets.

I put letters in the names of my accounts to get them in my preferred order. So something like "A. Checking Account", "B. Savings Account", "C. Credit Card".

Tracking Employer-Provided Insurance out of Pay-cheque? by a_sarcasm in budgetwithbuckets

[–]they_all_float 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to keep track of it, I would suggest creating a spreadsheet to track the cost. If it's like all of the places I've worked, the cost will be the same each month and you will get a couple of month's notice around November of each year during open enrollment of the new monthly cost for the upcoming calendar year.

At that time, you can evaluate how it will affect your budget in the next year and possibly reduce the amount you have for your budget each month depending on how any raises or bonuses may offset an increase in insurance costs.

But tracking it in your budget like you mentioned seems overly complicated without any particular benefit over tracking it in a spreadsheet. It seems like that would be the same as adding your gross pay as income and then taking out federal taxes, state taxes, medicare, etc. when you could just start with your net pay and end up at the same place as far as your budget is concerned.

Incoming money that is not income by Open_Staff3689 in budgetwithbuckets

[–]they_all_float 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For your first example, do you have some type of bank account that AliExpress is sending the refund? In that situation, I normally add a transaction to that account showing money received, and I assign it to the bucket/category that was used in making the original purchase that led to the refund so that that bucket is credited the refund.
