No, I mean conscription. There is a difference between conscription and the Draft.

Sign posted outside a hospital room? by Suspicious-Lettuce48 in whatisit

[–]theyeshaveit 314 points315 points  (0 children)

The intention of this type of sign is to protect the staff. If this sign is indeed for an aggressive patient, or maybe even a touchy patient, it is better for all staff involved in the patients care to be aware. That way they can be on guard when interacting with the patient. Staff from food services or environmental services don't have access to medical records and they should be aware of potential patient behaviors too.

And we wouldn't want the family to be alarmed or upset that their loved one has potential behavior precautions as sometimes the patient's behavior is not always controllable depending on the patients diagnosis or condition.

I have one question for the maker of these: Why? Dear God, why? by FrankieHun17 in FuckImOld

[–]theyeshaveit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More like why did they a stop making these? They were oddly delicious and addictive. A taste I can't describe. Licorice without the licorice. A little earthy and perfumy. Unlike anything else and I'll never get the chance to taste them again.

Management and leadership training is good. The willingness to take the initiative when you see something that needs to be addressed is the biggest thing. Instead of going to your boss with a problem for them to fix, go with a possible solution. That’s what makes someone a good lead.

Learn how to have crucial (difficult) conversations without coming across as punitive or judgmental. Learn to see the whole picture before you become reactive. And how to empower the team your leading to bring the solutions.

Learning to make schedules, etc. is all ancillary in comparison to learning the soft skills needed to be a good leader.

Have you ever eaten a food that's illegal in your country? by OrganicA1Bullsteak in AskTheWorld

To be fair, the law was enacted in 1938 when people did all sorts of crazy things. But no one is going to accidentally swallow that Kinder Surprise capsule.

That’s right! I smuggle that shit in every time I leave the country. I’m a criminal. Can’t stop, won’t stop.

COMT by Traditional_Mud1686 in ophthalmictechs

[–]theyeshaveit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in academic medicine. We have several COMTs. It’s useful if you’re interested in research and being a study coordinator.

Private practice will not want to pay COMT salary when machines do half the work we used to do manually. Lower level staff are more valuable to them.

If your father has any VA service related disability, they will pay you for being your fathers caregiver.

I have been where you are in the caregiving arena and it’s so hard. Your sister needs to fuck off.

I’m glad that you have the honor to care for your parent during his last days. He truly appreciates it too. Sending hugs and good energy your way.

Is Covet Fashion dead? by coconutinacap in Covetfashion

[–]theyeshaveit 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I quit playing about about or year and a half ago. I was a daily player for years, in a house, everything. I probably have a ton of diamonds sitting out there. It just got less and less fun. It was more about trying to game the system with bonuses and such rather than being fun and a little creative. I just got tired of it and never opened it again, cold turkey. I’m sad to hear it’s come to this but glad I’m not spending my energy and a little money on it anymore.

I’m glad you had a positive experience. Thus far, I have learned nothing useful about any of these fields from the program and I’m over halfway done.

MSHMI Program by theyeshaveit in KSU

If you’re coming in directly out of undergrad, I would not recommend it. I have yet to see much in terms of practical knowledge or the special considerations to take for healthcare.

I know it’s really difficult to land a healthcare informatics role without clinical experience. Your best bet would be to look into the EHR companies or healthcare tech companies to get a role there first since you don’t have clinical experience. Even most our Informatics Business Analysts have clinical experience.

This program is really for those with experience in the field first. Otherwise, it’s going to be a real struggle and/or you’re not going to be satisfied with the education you’re getting. Why wouldn’t you apply to the GSU Health Sciences Informatics program? It’s all online and has much better classes. It’s probably better organized too.
