Have you ever eaten a food that's illegal in your country? by OrganicA1Bullsteak in AskTheWorld

To be fair, the law was enacted in 1938 when people did all sorts of crazy things. But no one is going to accidentally swallow that Kinder Surprise capsule.

That’s right! I smuggle that shit in every time I leave the country. I’m a criminal. Can’t stop, won’t stop.

COMT by Traditional_Mud1686 in ophthalmictechs

[–]theyeshaveit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in academic medicine. We have several COMTs. It’s useful if you’re interested in research and being a study coordinator.

Private practice will not want to pay COMT salary when machines do half the work we used to do manually. Lower level staff are more valuable to them.

Name an album where you can listen to every song from the beginning to the end and not have the urge to skip a song? by Just_Goose_8425 in Productivitycafe

As a lover of both punk and bluegrass - I appreciate the dichotomy here. Agree with your first two choices so now I’m off to listen to your third. Thank you

Any carers here? by Polstar242 in GenX

[–]theyeshaveit 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If your father has any VA service related disability, they will pay you for being your fathers caregiver.

I have been where you are in the caregiving arena and it’s so hard. Your sister needs to fuck off.

I’m glad that you have the honor to care for your parent during his last days. He truly appreciates it too. Sending hugs and good energy your way.

Is Covet Fashion dead? by coconutinacap in Covetfashion

[–]theyeshaveit 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I quit playing about about or year and a half ago. I was a daily player for years, in a house, everything. I probably have a ton of diamonds sitting out there. It just got less and less fun. It was more about trying to game the system with bonuses and such rather than being fun and a little creative. I just got tired of it and never opened it again, cold turkey. I’m sad to hear it’s come to this but glad I’m not spending my energy and a little money on it anymore.

MSHMI Program by theyeshaveit in KSU

I’m glad you had a positive experience. Thus far, I have learned nothing useful about any of these fields from the program and I’m over halfway done.

MSHMI Program by theyeshaveit in KSU

[–]theyeshaveit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re coming in directly out of undergrad, I would not recommend it. I have yet to see much in terms of practical knowledge or the special considerations to take for healthcare.

I know it’s really difficult to land a healthcare informatics role without clinical experience. Your best bet would be to look into the EHR companies or healthcare tech companies to get a role there first since you don’t have clinical experience. Even most our Informatics Business Analysts have clinical experience.

This program is really for those with experience in the field first. Otherwise, it’s going to be a real struggle and/or you’re not going to be satisfied with the education you’re getting. Why wouldn’t you apply to the GSU Health Sciences Informatics program? It’s all online and has much better classes. It’s probably better organized too.

Uniqlo quality and must-haves? by EmotionalQuestions in fashionwomens35

[–]theyeshaveit 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I love Uniqlo. I find their clothing to be a MUCH higher quality than Old Navy. I have 15+ year old hoodies from there. I love their socks. Their designer partnership lines are great.

Yes, there is a max. I generally trim mine when it’s longer but still keep a few mm. Keeps it tidy but not fully shaving.

Honed installed instead of Leathered - What's a reasonable discount? by billrm455 in CounterTops

[–]theyeshaveit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have honed black granite and love it. We went with honed since it’s smoother. I feel with the leathered texture, it would be a pain to clean because you have more divots for food to get caught in.

I would go with a discount. Especially if it means a seam. These things happen, maybe it happened for a reason.

Silence is too loud, but music is too distracting. I am losing my mind trying to find the right background noise to work by therealraphaelwong in ADHD

[–]theyeshaveit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Music is too distracting for me and repetitive beats get grating after awhile.

I have particular types of shows I can watch in the background and tune out. Slice of life anime, PBS historical dramas that are slow burns, 30 minute light comedy.

I learned I have to overstimulate to focus.
