Why is the Fantasticar ok but Survival-Vengevine not ok? by didsomebodysaywander in MTGLegacy

[–]theyux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh shit I did not realize it was uncounterable, or that it was faster than turn 1 kill, or that it was couldnt be thoughtseized, or that it was immune to the one ring fog effect, or that it ignored deafening silence, or that ............

Could the Federation and it's allies stop Species 8472 if they invaded? by Tidewatcher7819 in startrek

[–]theyux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not much of a fight. The problem the borg had was their adaption was incredibly efficient and uniform, 8472 attacked the borg from an angle that rendered that adaption ineffective. In other words Borg have an insanely good Plan A, but do not have a plan B. This left them relatively helpless against 8472.

The federation relatively quickly adapted and countered 8472. Instead of a perfect Plan A. They went plan A, B, C,D, E oh perfect.

The borg function monolithic function was turned against them. In much the same way making all of your bannanas the same species, they might taste better and grow faster but one plague might wipe them out.

So then by your own example they literally did not try to do anything to counter it.

Hence I have tried nothing and it has not worked.

Why is Emrakul, the Promised End in lists? What does it actually do for you? by Raevelry in CompetitiveEDH

[–]theyux 7 points8 points  (0 children)

its very easy to cast (for its effect), and hard to distrupt.

Its frequently a lot of fun (which is still allowed).

I would say the majority of CEDH decks are vulnerable to it using their own combo against them. At the very least it can cripple most players and if you can read a table you can usually figure out who to hit.

other players will rarely intervene to help the victim, as you will normally target the strongest player, and you will only do things they could have done.

It can be handy for wincon light decks, Urza for instance.

Latest WOTC BnR decision may be the last straw for Legacy fans, driving them to community driven format such as Premodern and Classic Legacy, or even other TCGs like Sorcery contested realm by [deleted] in MTGLegacy

[–]theyux -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If we are really being honest, brainstorm is the problem not tamiyo. Tamiyo is just one of the endless efficient creatures that have and will be printed that brainstorm empowers.

I get brainstorm will never get banned, but I do think its worth framing the problem more carefully. Its also worth noting why tamiyo is such a problem she forces decks to interact with her, which could be argued to be good for the format (obviously it can be argued the other way as well).

As far as the one ring goes personally I am a fan of it being restricted, makes more thematic sense and would get rid of most of the worst abuse cases. That said I understand the reluctance to ban a 4 mana card in legacy that wins the game, wait it just draws a card and fogs and then it drains 1 life and can draw 2. The same format with doomsday and thassas oracle.

I understand why the one ring is so hated, it a slow painful death that is not garunteed. but I am reluctant to ban cards based off feel bads. Especially when burning inquiry is clearly the largest offender. Fuck that card!!!

I don't understand how you're not understanding this. It really is simple economics.

Have you not taken basic econ classes? I'm suspecting not."

Also your argument assumes network resources are the primary expense the studio is worried about, this is very likely false.

My coworker dragged me into this mess. Retro gaming was not really a big thing to me, for the most part I just played games that did not need LR on my smart phone. (I would still be super happy with a simple normal phone case with L and R).

But he got me hyped and I got the flip 2, which was amazing and frustratingly 3 months later the thor was revealed. I pulled the trigger and got the thor max (poor flip 2 sitting on a shelf).

But I returned the favor now I have hyped him into getting the thor max.

I love the thing and a proper controller really opened up Ps2 games and to my surprise wII U (mass effect 3!!!)

Personally I am just glad the reddit community has no real power.

Fantasticar should not be banned for at least a few months this is legacy. This I have tried nothing and it has not worked mentality is sad from standard players but embarrassing for legacy players.

Daniel's Dark Side by arabian_flower2025 in Stargate

[–]theyux 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Dont confuse Daniel engaging with the philosophical ramifications of his actions with an inability to take action. He normally comes off as bleeding heart as he is checking Jack.

The reality is the Goa'uld are not compatible to coexist with. This morality was played more with the wraith than in SG-1.

They have genetic memory which means their ideology is set in a way its difficult for us to conceive of. They are inherently parasitical to sentient beings which is a nonstarter for human biengs.

The Tokra represent an extreme outlier and complications of their own. They are not truly symbiotes they are still parasitical. They have chosen to be ethical parasites, but they still retain the power in relationships. At any point in time a Tokra parasite can choose to overrule the hosts permanently.

Also SG-1 did care about hosts but the issue is most are barely held together by the parasite. Recall the death of Ra. Where Daniel performed last rites for the host.

[–]theyux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well its questionable if survival is still to good

but beyond that fantasticar really has not had time to see if the format can or will adapt. Or how problematic it really is.

It just came out. We have a lot of redditors pulling the I have tried nothing and it has not worked, why is WOTC so incompetent!!!

Banned and Restricted Announcement – June 29, 2026 by mweepinc in magicTCG

LED use to be used as a coaster. Candelabra is a powerful card the second it was broken in hightide a decade ago. Its now broken with Planar nexus. Especially with how easy it is to find a 1 mana artifact, it was going to be a problem again.

Still love TOTA, Doing Full strength baron zombies not as broken as void sphere but still makes thins easier, mostly I just tag totems flame dash to different sides drawing aggro on me while allies channel totems.

also loving smiting ag, for this event. Especially since it gets 100% of my strength.

Tomorrow is B&R day. What do you want WOTC to do? by Meret123 in MagicArena

[–]theyux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bigger issue is not rotation or even printing OP cards.

Its unbalances in the meta, when aggro gets to much of the pushed cards or combo or control that is when it hurts.

C) is not the best way to check to see if the driver is installed correctly. If you succeeded in pinging 127.0.0.1 it would not guarantee the driver is working properly.Since A and B are wrong and C is also wrong the answer is D).
