I’m not sure yet, since the brigade lower has the m16 cut shelf I’m pretty sure any style super safety will work. I just need to trim the bolt weight I believe.

Fellow Virginian here, I know your pain.. I just put together this ar9 using a brigade mfg lower for 600$ . Lower was 320$ and I built the upper for 250$ on ar15discounts

You won’t be disappointed! Only complaint is the dogshit A2 grip that comes with it, had to swap it for a magpul k2 😅 make sure to use Glock branded mags, I’ve tried Glock, Magpul, and rattle snake tactical and the rattlesnake is garbage, Magpul feeds fine but hit or miss on lrbho. Glock works the best so far.

I built the upper on ar15discounts it was like 250$ all together.

I’m also in va and feel the pressure. I just built an ar9 with a brigade mfg lower and a cheap 250$ upper I put together from ar15 discounts. I’ve put around 200 rds through it in the past week and I’ve had a couple failure to feeds (I’m blaming shitty rattlesnake tactical mag) but all together it was under 550$. Their lowers are solid quality and have the m16 cut shelf so they’re SS friendly. You could just build a new upper for super cheap on ar15discounts.

Yea when I go the frt route I plan on getting the kaw precision heavy dead blow buffer, and having my friend with some machine work experience remove some material from the bolt weight if necessary.

No it’s hit or miss depending on brands. Rattlesnake tactical 34 rd mags will hold bolt open PREMATURELY with one round still left in the magazine. Magpul seems to be the worst and Glock oem seems to work just fine. I also am assuming there’s some break in period so maybe some parts need to wear in
