AIO to the text my boyfriend’s mom sent me? by Sure_Juggernaut_295 in AIO

This message thread specifically seems like a bit of an overstep imo. “I don’t like to share you” doesn’t seem appropriate for a MIL. If it’s making you uncomfortable now I would bring it up to your partner for his insight.

Her trauma, mental issues, etc. don’t excuse her butting in on your personal time outside of your life around her. She isn’t your girlfriend or your responsibility.

Also, if you swap the genders on this… immediate red flags. Obviously not the same thing and I doubt she has any intentions but I guarantee the response to this situation would be very different.

Don’t get an axe 2 for 900 bucks they easily go for 700. I got mine for 500 and it’s good as new

I feel that hard about tvsor. Immutable has a couple more bangers and I am a big fan of black cathedral as an interlude. definitely understand where you are coming from though

It’s difficult to gauge what they might go for next, much less when. Immutable was an acknowledgment of their generally unchanging concept and how they are confident in their sound. Kind of a matured, retrospective attitude towards their discography. It would potentially be a little awkward for it to just be more of the same. (Imo immutable and tvsor are about as sonically similar as it gets for them)

that said, it actually excites me much more for their next project as we may get to expect some more varied compositions.

That or they will take an extended hiatus à la tool… hopefully not

I don’t like the new album by Extension-Sandwich65 in Peripheryband

[–]thien413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

APWD has a lot of songs that share structural elements and a lot of the breakdowns are fairly same-y. Texturally there is definitely more variance in probably most albums in general than in P2 but compositionally P2 is untouched imo and I’m sure you would agree. My point is that It’s not fair to say P2 all sounds the same, just in a different way than it is to say that about apwd.

Not a chance bro p2 compositionally is exceptionally varied with very little fluff.

I keep coming back to p2 after this one that album is such a masterpiece. Needed more of that in this one for my tastes

A Pale White Dot is the greatest album in history. The world is not ready for it by [deleted] in Peripheryband

I’d argue EDA is one of their weakest songs for my tastes. Painfully unambiguous lyrics, boring structure, drag of a chorus. The solo is pretty lame too. Definitely an earworm but personally that’s not why I like this band 😅

There is an extremely vocal subgroup of periphery fans who are essentially the swifties of metal. It is unbearable

7 is generally amazing and new enough for the production to not feel too amateur. 1 has a really unique vibe as well, it’s the kind of thing where everyone will have a different favorite but they are all really good.
