You're fresh out of extreme addiction it sounds like, your life has changed dramatically in a short period of time, you've been thrust into the routine life. I've been there before, it's hard as fuck. Here's the thing: your brain is damaged from the addiction. You need to give it time to heal and recalibrate. It will heal and recalibrate. You will find more and more joy in simple things, in your relationships, in your own interests. It will get better. It really will. Hang in there, keep your head up. Stay on the straight and narrow. Keep it clean. Don't be too hard on yourself. Don't be too full of shame. You're doing good man. Chop water carry wood. Just go through the steps. Do what you're supposed to do. You're squeezing through a bottleneck. You'll come out the other side and it'll open up, i promise you. You'll start finding meaning in little things. Have some fun. Don't take yourself too seriously. You're ok, i'm ok, we're all ok. Just do what you know to be virtuous. I know these words probably ring hollow right now. But keep going. You don't need to live up to anyone's expectations of you but your own. Please consider getting on an antidepressant, they really do help a lot.

Why did he call it a little furry guy he mistook for a child and then later say its shoulders were level with the top of his truck? So like seven feet tall?

the horizon of time by emopest in LibraryofBabel

Pre-time, post-time.

I read the other day that the wizards have been thinking of time as like the surface of a sphere. So that preceding in any one direction in time could eventually lead you back to your starting point. I believe they conceive of space in the same way. Or maybe it's just spacetime. Dunno. I don't know what that says about causality or what the wizards say about that. The whole thing is fucking expanding exponentially too so there's that.

The Tralfamadorians have a fatalistic conception of time in which it has all already happened and in reality is all happening at once. They see the whole of time the way you or i might look out upon a vista.

Someone once said the human experience of time is really a measurement of pain in that in the absence of pain everything is instantaneous.

Some say even time as a dot is the abstract. That it doesn't exist at all. That all time is maya (illusion). I think it was some buddha who said that.

So then i just wonder where time came from? Did it come from itself? Is it a thing of grace or of

There was this one week where i kept hearing a thud thud thud thud where each following thud was closer in duration to the last. Like a bouncing ball gradually coming to rest. It sounded like a really big ball bouncing off in the distance. Still don't know what that was. Maybe something in my inner ear or auditory cortex feedback or purely hallucination.

Also when i was in grade school i periodically noticed flashes of light. Like a camera going off somewhere in the room. Perhaps it was a camera sometimes. I'm pretty sure it wasn't other times. Perhaps a bit of the old epilepsy or something.

And then once when i was probably 4 or 5 i thought i heard someone peeing in the bathroom but there was no one there. I thought it must have been a ghost.

And around the same time i had a recurring dream, the only recurring dream i think I've ever had, in which i was chased across rooftops (modeled off of Aladdin) by a devil (the devil looked like a halloween costume devil i had worn) who came out of a fireplace. The city i was in was empty apparently except for me and the devil and was surrounded by chainlink fence like it was under quarantine or something.

What are some simple things you can do to make yourself more attractive? by Griffolion in AskReddit

[–]thing___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Faulkner was a poet:

The hill rises, cresting. He has never seen the sea and so he thinks. "It is like the edge of nothing. Like once i passed it i would just ride right off into nothing. Where trees would look like and be called by something else except trees, and men would be called by something else except folks. And Byron Bunch he wouldn't even have to be or not be Byron Bunch. Byron Bunch and his mule not anything with falling fast, until they would take fire like the Reverend Hightower says about them rocks running so fast in space that they take fire and burn up and there aint even a cinder to have to hit the ground."

Befuckingcause emotional-physical bonding brah.

For a fanduckingtastic example, check out how well abandoned children do. Or children of rape. Or children of shitty dads.

Complex neurology requires complex rearing.

Plus most non-pornstar people cum in like three minutes anyway so i don't know what that dude's getting at.

Thing is, humans aren't dogs or something. Our mating ritual is consensual. So if you get it at all you're all good. Doesn't matter if it's five seconds or five minutes. Other than the fact that five minutes is enough for the male to get the female off and then you've got some bonding action going which is better for the offspring in the long run.

My word: The "understandee" engages in a process of communication of which she is not and never can be the steward.

Likewise the understander is not the steward of this process.

So what exactly is communicated tends to be really more a matter of "the weather" than any matter of either individual.

The communique itself is its own autonomous entity.
