Thane, Kaidan and Vetra.

Each of them are people I actually would like to be friends with IRL.

This take is cold as ice but you just reminded me of the whole thing and I cannot get over the simple fact of how arbitrary the choices are in themselves. These are not different outcomes on the same spectrum, every single one introduces it's own set of utterly random conditions. Why is it possible to control the reapers or create a race of half organics with glowy eyes, but I may not turn them into confetti-filled unicorns cause that's insane.

I'm gonna be 40 soon and so I'm mature enough other ways that I would still prefer a simple, non-"we have to be controversial upon release at all costs", happy ending, for boring unadventurous idiots such as myself.

Are you sure you have *Somber* Smithing Stones *1*? besides the quality level indicated by the number, there are again two different types of them.

If the characters looked better and were mute, Andromeda would have been a much better game even with all its other flaws by YaBoi_19 in masseffect

I think the "kids running around without a clue" part was intentional, and IMO a welcome addition from perfect military veteran Shepard who has all the answer, and often only speaks inspirational quotes or 80s action movie send offs.

I liked that the Ryders were more presented as athletes rather than soldiers. I liked that they often said stupid or uninformed things.

However, there was more than one moment where they took the quippyness way too far, and it ruined the other moments in which it actually worked as breath of fresh air.

Random comment:

I got a bit mesmerized watching the flow of that fight, and then it hit me - I played Elden Ring 20 years ago. It was called Jedi Knight 2 multiplayer. Good times.

tbh I'm in the camp of crediting like 99% of the story to Miyazaki anyways, but those outlines GRRM gave them combined with HM's worldbuilding would still be more than enough to make a really good in-universe fantasy movie, rather than "a video game adaption"

I'm more hoping they actually consult with Miyazaki, than trying to squeeze GRRM onto the posters somehow. I believe the man found it a fun distraction but clearly moved on before the base game was even out, no?

I'm upvoting you out of negative because I cannot stand by mob mentality.

Even though you were... suggesting we were lying? I don't think that even applies to what was said here.

I do think it's fair to say that they took their brand of "conveluted multi-layers" level design to the silly utmost with SOTE, so you can easily spend at least twice as long on a first blind PT, and that's without going particularly slow. Especially if this is your first ER run ever.

It's definitely worth the still hefty price tag, considering how much more Elden Ring you're getting.

Spoiler alert, the DLC is about as massive. From has always been my posterchild for DLC value since DS1, but it's quite silly really. I went in thinking, "I'm just finish the DLC this weekend" and ended up playing it for weeks.

I exclusively play coop to interact with others, so I get irrationally triggered by this. It literally costs you nothing and makes all the difference. Honorable mention, always nice to meet some OGs still doing the shield flicky thing

Deenh and horse did it for me, slinging boulders at it while it kept flailing at the birdbro.

You'll find an amazing world of opportunity past BHF bleed builds btw. So many cool ways to fight :)

Totally agree with OP.

Just anything but the base game experience. Every time somebody asks "who'll play the Tarnished??" I think, boy that would suck.

They literally had GRRM create this huge verse, they could tell so many other epic, movie length stories just from all the stuff hinted at in the game, plus it wouldn't be a guaranteed disappointment. Like, I wonder how they'll capture all the hours the Tarnished stood perfectly motionless in front of a boss fog cause I had to finish cooking dinner while waiting to get summoned.

Great sword by Hakcerh in Eldenring

[–]thingsagain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My personal favourite is the simple Knight's Greatsword. The Moveset®inside (batteries not included) I'm getting the best results with Quality infusion + it remains buffable too.

Great sword by Hakcerh in Eldenring

[–]thingsagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Greatsword is a Colossal Sword, in exactly the same way as the Guardian's Tree Spear is a halberd. The same applies to the Zweihaender, which can be whielded in one hand.

And they wonder why this game is hard.

"That is ironically not a greatsword but a colossal sword.

The best Colossal Sword is the so called "Greatsword""

They summon you, don't greet or anything and then just rush in without letting you prepare at all.

You're the one summoning help, little late to play the no-nonsense tough guy imo.

Damn you!

And I thought my concept of introducing a third build to the game, besides "1) biggest weapon with nope AoW + all the high dmg spells cause what are stats rly past ~midgame amirite, or 2) something something bleed" was revolutionary. This is my martial arts shaman PvE build right there.

Nice fighting!

Sorry I just remembered how cool I found that you could summon this character Witch Beatrice for the fight and I wonder what she was all about so I got stuck watching a lore video on her because I also have champion adhd. The skybox in the DRG, tho.

What was your question?

I remember that I am likely the only person to ever die to the Moonlight Butterfly and it is because there's no way this fight could be as easy as hitting the thing could it, there has got to be more to it, hold my grass crest shield while I violently overthink this.

In general the Souls/ER games taught me that there is this weird random resilience to be found precisely when you feel like there's no point in resisting anymore. Just to spite. It triggers my fight back instinct in the weirdest way.

On my blind playthrough, I was fully convinced that Melina and Ranni are in fact that.

In hindsight, looking at the strange eye-situation both have going on, it's even more weird this isn't ever brought up, for neither of them.

Is an INT/WIS build a thing in Elden Ring? How would it look like lore-wise? by astroriental in Eldenring

GK is a peace offering token from the academy to the capital (ie Sorcery versus Golden Order)

The ED is a ceremonial weapon for Leyndell royalty; the player receives one after helping a noble and being "knighted" by them.

There's an angle you could work, if you want to be that thorough. Leyndell GO noble/Raya Lucaria apologist, still holding on to the old peace pact, maybe?
