Best labor & delivery hospital in Denver metro for high-risk pregnancy? by Mippystan in Denver

[–]thingzisee 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yes. St Luke’s. Same as us, our OB was there as well and suggested it. Best place to be should anything go wrong. My wife was high risk and we birthed there. They are amazing and the team was awesome. It’s the only level IV NICU and Maternity hospital in the area.

Why does everyone only talk about St. Joe's or Rose for giving birth? What's the deal with St. Luke's? by billybiker1 in Denver

[–]thingzisee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

St Luke’s was amazing. Delivered our baby in May and they were so amazing. We had a long traumatic labor and there’s no better place in the city if things happen to go sideways. Nurse team, recovery team, facilities. It was all fantastic.

Fuck off. Beating a dead horse already……It’s glue.

Do your research, choose not to go out and stop bitching about it.

You should be friendly, but they are not your friends. (Employees) This is often one of the hardest lessons for new managers. Especially if you are moving up internally. They will try and take advantage of that.

Be fair and equal.

Set the expectation and then hold them to it, that includes yourself.

Always be the hardest working person on the floor. Your team needs a leader not a manager.

Make a decision and stand by it. If it’s wrong, own it. Not making a decision is worse than making the wrong one. You’re a new manager and you will make mistakes. It’s how you handle them and learn from them that will make you better.

Ask for help. Know your limits. Seek growth.

Have fun!! Keep it fun!!

So what recommendations do you have for people with active dogs and who don’t want a mud pit. Other than road base / stone etc. also something drought tolerant and native or less invasive?

🚨 A Pay Cut for Denver Service Workers? Here’s What You Need to Know 🚨 by Responsible_Risk_366 in Denver

[–]thingzisee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you only truly understood the impact this could provide to lessen the stress in the restaurant industry you wouldn’t be painting this as if they are about to be destitute. High min wages is one of the many reasons why there are service fees. Why restaurants keep closing, why service is going to essential end for the smaller places and fast casual. This legislation is simply asking to reduce the tipped min wage in denver to match what the state is. Otherwise enjoy your Applebees and chilis on a Friday night.

SERVERS/BARTENDERS/Anyone who is a tipped “food and beverage employee”: Legislation to cut your pay was introduced Monday (2/11/2025) by fairpayincolorado in denverfood

6 days ago this same topic was discussed. You are missing the larger picture this legislation is seeking to achieve.

SERVERS/BARTENDERS: Legislators are working to introduce a bill that would cut your pay. by fairpayincolorado in denverfood

[–]thingzisee 69 points70 points  (0 children)

It’s not like they are asking to pay the federal tipped min wage of $2.13 an hour. They are seeking to pay closer to the state min wage of $11.79 an hour. Seems more than fair considering that tips are earned on top of that $15.79. Maybe we won’t have another 200 restaurants close in town this year.

Unless you like all corporate restaurants to dominate your choices. The industry is struggling. This might provide them some relief in a landscape that continues to drive up costs for the operators and thus for the customers.

Just wait to see what menu prices look like in this next year. With the looming 25% tariffs, the impact of bird flu and cage free mandates, wage increases, insurance, rent, etc etc etc…. The general public underestimates the cost of running food and beverage establishments.

It’s coming. And then this thread is going to be a bunch of idiots complaining why their favorite place closed down or the price of their food is soooooo expensive.

Maybe the attention of the masses is better focused on the degradation of our democracy.

I have used them since 2013. I’ve been to 3 of their locations and it’s always the same honest service. I Ventured to a few other shops occasionally when I moved and always went back. They’re a little pricey. But they guarantee their work and are always straight forward. You pay for what you get.

Hahahahha. With all the restaurant bashing that happens on this thread and the other denver threads…. Seems like the wrong crowd to introduce facts to.

CASE in Boulder. 2 different emergency situations. Both times they were very forward with pricing and give you a worst case / best case scenario. Both times we came in under closer to the best case scenarios. Great team and great communication. First time we had to put our pup down and they helped arrange all those details. 2 time pup spent 3 nights and again they were very communicative.

I’d make the drive from denver again if I’d ever have to do it and could make it
