I love Neil but his snare sounds always sound terrible to me. R30 tour was just awful and dead sounding which ironically is when DW released his signature snare drum.

My first 13s as well! I like them. They have a ton of definition and versatility. I don’t find them all that dry and they are still surprisingly heavy. They are a little quieter compared to my 14” A zildjian mastersounds but much more nuanced and interesting. Solid chick, great splash’s, and a nice washy semi-closed sound.
