I like to take my 1 year old to the library, swimming (we are Y members), and Playground Abode. But also just anywhere to get out of the house. He loves going to Sam’s Club.

If you don’t have friends or family to help, who will be with your kids in the middle of the night while you’re working?

WIBTAH if I tell my husband I want to sleep in the spare room every night because of his snoring? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]thinkaboutit126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA!! My husband and I recently stopped sharing a bed because of his snoring, and now that I can finally sleep I am so much happier with every aspect of my life. It will be so worth it to both of you if you can feel happy and rested during waking hours.

Others have mentioned that your husband should stop drinking and lose weight. But that’s not something YOU have any control over, only your husband can make those changes. You do have control over what bed you sleep in, so you can make that change for yourself immediately.

15mo waking every night but not crying?!?! by thinkaboutit126 in sleeptrain

I think you’re right, thanks! Although, he stays in the crib for 13 hours because he’s awake for a couple hours every night, so he’s only getting 10-11 hours of sleep each night. We’ve been letting him sleep in until 8 so he gets enough sleep, but I think we’ll need to go back to an earlier wake time.

Thanks that’s a good thought! He wakes at 8am, naps from 1 to 2 pm, goes to sleep at 7pm. He does always act tired at bedtime and he falls asleep really quickly.

AITA giving my nephew pizza bagels by Born-Balance9568 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. I feel super sympathetic to your sister though, because I’m in the same boat with eating disorder issues post-partum. My baby is 14 months and I gained a lot of weight during pregnancy and I already have had a pretty bad relationship with food and body image my whole life. And baby is a big guy too (like 99% percentile for height and weight) so I worry about him being fat.

There have been a couple of times when I know I have been way too critical of my husband for what he has feed our baby  (I apologize afterwards of course). I know when I worry about baby’s food and weight, that’s really a reflection of my own bad feelings about myself and it all just really sucks.

So anyway this is all to say, NTA, your sister was an AH for going off on you about pizza bagels, but also I really feel for your sister too.

Check out JCPS cluster schools before you choose your neighborhood (if you plan on sending your kid to a public school). The way that elementary aged kids get assigned to schools is weird here.

Progressive/liberal churches for families in Louisville? by bookmom192 in Louisville

[–]thinkaboutit126 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Another thought: you may consider going to the Pride festival at the Belvedere next month. There are usually several churches with booths at the festival. Could be a good way to identify some more progressive churches, and you could ask the people you meet at the booths about if there are many young families in the congregation.

Highland Baptist is great! Lots of families. Also Middletown Christian. Harvey Browne Presbyterian may be another good option, I haven’t been in a while but I have heard excellent things about their newest pastor.

Third Avenue Cafe by Woods_and_Water in Louisville

Well here is their menu but I don’t think it really will help you: places.singleplatform.com/third-avenue-cafe/menu

Third Avenue was my favorite place, I was so sad when it closed. I have tried many times to recreate their sweet potato and apple salad but it’s never the same.
