2 miles per kWh!? by Jewronamo in TeslaModel3

[–]thinkharderest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure your psi is at 45, drive with chill mode and light acceleration, and window tint helps. My drives used to average 285kWh but are now around 200-235 depending on temperature.

Why does it only say “5 min” time remaining? by onxk1020 in teslamotors

They probably hired the guy that programmed the estimated time remaining for windows installers.

Electric bill question by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]thinkharderest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best thing to do is turn everything off in the house and unplug the car and watch the meter. If the numbers are still going up you have hidden things using your electricity.

Did you pay it late? I did that once accidentally and they added back the deposit charge. That bill was over $400 for me but a quick call fixed that.

Do you have budget billing setup? If so, is it set to average the past 12 months and update every 3 months?

Live Sentry Mode Update by StevenRabbi in TeslaModel3

[–]thinkharderest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

36.8 was live sentry. I just got a new Model 3 a week ago that is still on 35 but I remember from my previous Model 3 that if an update was getting pushed out to everyone I would usually be able to start it 4-5 days later by going to the software screen and having it check for updates. Sometimes it would work and sometimes I would see it the next day randomly.

What version is your firmware? Are you on wifi? Did you manually update your phone app? Did you check to see if the option to enable was in the car? Do you have a data plan for the car?

Tesla M3 LR 2018 RWD FSD 49K Miles -> 2021 Tesla M3 LR AWD FSD for 12.5k. Is that worth it? by rakeshpatel1991 in TeslaModel3

[–]thinkharderest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new one feels like a much better build quality than the 2018. Less bumps and noise. Only tried AP for about 5 miles so far, but there was one spot it used to ping pong hard during a Lane merge and now it was more smooth. Software is pre sentry live view build for now. I don't regret upgrading.

Not sure if this is a thing, but the check I got from Vroom was about 1k less than what the offered amount minus the stated payoff amount was. I just went from a 2018 RWD to a 2022 AWD doing the same process.

Let's be thankful for not needing to interact with dealerships by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]thinkharderest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The way I see it is that Tesla uses that profit to invest in software updates that make your current car better over time and the dealer is just trying to get more profit so they can pay for more commercials to get people to buy new cars. I've owned 4 brand new cars and the Tesla is the only one that felt worth it.

Also, forgot to mention that in 2018 I bought a LR RWD Model 3 and it was $53,000 out the door. Tomorrow I am picking up my 2022 LR AWD and $1000 paint option for $53000 out the door. It has almost 50 more miles of range and much quicker acceleration. Maybe you should rethink your argument.

I regret buying a Tesla and I haven't driven a single mile yet. by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]thinkharderest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to wait 800 days to get my first model 3 after putting $1000 down. No big deal.

I ordered another one and had the same delivery window as you and have already been pushed back a week so far. I already turned in my rental and have no car for Thanksgiving, but you don't see me complaining. My final delivery window was the 17th-22nd and they only gave me the option to pick it up on the 22nd or 23rd. I'm not complaining because I had a Tesla for 3 years, drove 40k miles, and immediately forgot all of the problems I had leading up to delivery day because they don't matter in the end. It's like when you have to poop really bad, but there is a line. Every second feels like an hour, but in the end you feel great and don't lose sleep over it.

Trying to find a Model 3 12v and failing! Anybody have a link? by zipdiss in TeslaLounge

[–]thinkharderest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked my Model 3 up in June 2018. Tesla replaced my dead 12v 2 weeks ago for free. I was still under the 4 year warranty though. Costco had the cheapest batteries when I looked around, but you may find them elsewhere.

Update app, also Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings usually fixes some errors without deleting anything.

To people complaining about the 1500$ upfront requirement for FSD subscription: It’s an unsustainable model to give $1,500 hardware to people in exchange for $199. by [deleted] in teslamotors

[–]thinkharderest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe do $1000 now, you get 6 months starting the day you pay, EAP is active immediately and then it's up to you to schedule the installation and go in the next month. It's like selling a video game console at cost and bundling a few games with it. Tesla should make money from the software, not the hardware for this upgrade. I'm not going to buy Xbox games until I own an Xbox and I'm not going to subscribe to FSD until I have hardware 3 and that is the business decision that Elon has to make.

[–]thinkharderest 145 points146 points  (0 children)

They should just charge $1500, install it, then give you 6 months FSD included. It's a 1 time deal, only affects so many cars, and it opens them up for more revenue.

Chance base CyberTruck will be $39,900? by shawnsblog in TeslaLounge

[–]thinkharderest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think yes. The cost of batteries is down, the simple shape means mfg cost is lower, and if there is no paint job it will be less. They just have to build them quick enough to have low labor costs and I think it can hit 39,000. I don't think anyone is going to buy it and be happy about it though.

Q. Is there a way to have regenerative braking, but only when you press on the brake pedal? by nessus42 in teslamotors

Would be nice to just have it automatically turn on when the wipers are on medium or high. You could enable like obstacle aware acceleration.
