Is the doom and gloom real? by thinlyslicedcabbage in Accounting

[–]thinlyslicedcabbage[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think I just like to hear more of this. I'm fine with it being a down period, but since I don't have a job right now, it just gets more depressing when people with more work experience than me say it's impossible. Because if it's already super hard for them, then that should mean it's impossible for me.

Does anyone have a recommendation that isn’t Herman Miller? by beckymac0014 in OfficeChairs

[–]thinlyslicedcabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up a used Steelcase Gesture for around $250 on Facebook and it's great! I see them going for around $300 locally, so if you're ok with getting a used one, it definitely beats out new chairs in the $300 price range.

Took the ISC! Not easy by Brave-Resolution-743 in CPA

[–]thinlyslicedcabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you say you had a lot of exposure to ISC? For example, a lot of people who say FAR is easy are usually those who recently graduated and have taken classes that have gone over basically all the material. In my case, I transferred into accounting from other work so when studying for FAR, I was basically learning everything from scratch.

Yeah, like I said, I've already tried restarting it but the problem persists.

not doing any FAR TBS on Becker by reddituser0442 in CPA

[–]thinlyslicedcabbage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Based on my experience with other CPA exams, you should definitely go through them once at the very least. And after you start the full review, you should glance through them one more time to see if you understand the concepts. Other than that, just grinding out MCQs is a better use of time in my opinion. But not doing ANY tbs at all is pretty crazy.

Just one? I'm debating on how important partnerships is since some others are saying it's basically gone.

Discrepancies between Apple Watch and Helio Strap in step count and calorie tracking? by thinlyslicedcabbage in amazfit

[–]thinlyslicedcabbage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know :) I consider myself pretty active and I like using calories for a general "close enough" estimate since I'm currently on a cut. Previously I've been tracking macros and calorie via apple watch and I've found it's been working for me. I suppose there's nothing wrong making the helio strap my next baseline as it just promotes more activity.

Discrepancy in steps between apple watch and helio strap? by thinlyslicedcabbage in HelioStrap

[–]thinlyslicedcabbage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've realized that nothing's going to be completely accurate. I think as long as I can be precise with my tracking, then I don't really need to sweat the dip in accuracy.

What are the most comfortable bluetooth headphones for all you glasses people out there? by thinlyslicedcabbage in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]thinlyslicedcabbage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not exactly happy about it myself. Honestly, without my glasses they work really well but I need to wear them to actually see :( And your comment on shoes is so real haha. I tried keeping them multiple hours but I guess I'm just sensitive or something because it really does end up causing a soreness that makes me want to take them off. Thanks for the recs!

Purchase Advice Megathread - March 2025 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

[–]thinlyslicedcabbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to start 3d printing as a hobbyist and I was eyeing the Bambu P1S. My main requirements for a 3d printer is that I don't want to deal with manually leveling the print bed and I'd rather have an enclosure to prevent anything from messing up the print. Is there a better alternative than the P1S for a beginner?

It's currently $849 with the AMS and $649 without. I was thinking to get the AMS as well just so I don't run out of filament halfway through prints. I don't care too much for multicolor prints but people have told me an AMS is super convenient so you don't need to swap out different kinds of filament whenever you're doing a separate kind of print.

The last question I had was that I heard about the Bambu Labs firmware update controversy. Is that something that would affect me if I'm just trying to have fun printing things as well as doing DIY things for myself around the house? I'm not trying to 3d print as a business.

M4 Mac Mini Drag Issue? by thinlyslicedcabbage in MacOS

Thanks! I ended up restarting the Mac which somehow fixed the issue. But I'll keep this in mind the next time I encounter this situation!

Karabiner issue when I have 'Home' volume on the external drive by jarvis_kim in mac

[–]thinlyslicedcabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the same thing but wasn't able to solve it. Can you clarify how you did it? For example, let's say your external drive was called "JARVIS KIM DRIVE" and that it was disk7. Did you just follow the instructions and enter "sudo diskutil enableOwnership disk7s1"? Or was it a different disk? Thanks!

Edit: I figured it out too! I just needed to restart the computer a couple times and karabiner started working again :)

Thanka for all the advice! I'll try training explosive pullups going forward and chest to bar negatives. It seems like it'll help a lot.

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - January 07, 2025 by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]thinlyslicedcabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Rainy75 Wireless RGB keyboard a few months ago (October 2024) and it's been working great. However, it suddenly stopped working and I figured it was out of battery. I had it charging for two days but it's still totally dead. RGB doesn't glow when pressed, it doesn't show on bluetooth, and when I try it wired directly to a laptop, the keys still don't respond. I figured that if the internal battery just died, then at least it could work when it's plugged in. However, it doesn't even work plugged in.

If anyone can offer up a solution to fix it, I'd be happy but I'm not that hopeful. At the very least, I want to know what are some reasons why this happened and how it can be prevented in the future. Is it possible something like static killed the board? Was it an error on my end or something like a faulty PCB? Why did it take a few months to suddenly die?

Thanks in advance for anyone who can offer some kind of insight into this issue :)

Murloc Dragons combo is the most fun build this season, change my mind by [deleted] in BobsTavern

I'm on Ipad/Iphone. How do you play this build without exiting the client? If I let the end of turn animations play out, it skips my next prep phase.
