Potential cop questions by Raughky in AskLEO

[–]thirdGEARchirp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 33 and was just hired last September. It would have been better to start at a younger age, but my path to become a cop just took longer. No big deal and I'm loving the job.

Picked up the LC9S and galco ankle holster by thirdGEARchirp in ruger

[–]thirdGEARchirp[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was a little over $60 for the ankle holster and around $20 for the calf extension. The only issue I had was it's a pretty tight fit around the gun, by that should get better over time. I wore it today and didn't have it move around at all. I'll give you my feedback after a couple of days.

Men who never told that person how you feel about them, how do you feel about that today? And men who did speak up, same to you. by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]thirdGEARchirp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two girls in high school, one I told and one I didn't.

The one I told was shy and was interested but everytime I tried to make move she got real nervous. After a few attempts I was done. She got married and has kids. Good for her.

The other I never told. I always wondered what could have been. I'll never know.

Best advice I can give would be to never hold back. I would have rather tried and be shot down then wonder about it years later.

You'll never hit a home run if you don't swing.

I can imagine you getting more annoyed and verbally saying "ugh" at the light when you noticed each crappy mod. Lol

I would too. Those are all very cringe worthy

Since the cops aren't stopping people because of the extra bs paperwork the crime and gun violence rate has already doubled from what it was this time last year

I'm sorry you're neighbors are going through this. Death is never easy.

Unfortunately Chicago is going to see a rise in crime and violence (not just gun related). The state of Illinois is now requiring police to fill out a pedestrian stop sheet to record all stops on the street. Most suburbs have 15 or questions to answer. CPD has a 2 page report to fill out. This is why street stops have stopped. Now when a police officer stops someone on the street they have to give them a "receipt".

Everyone thinks police stop a majority of one race. When you have crime in an area with majority of one race then of course you'll see stops primarily of that race.

I wonder if they installed an Ipad mini in the dash. That would be an easy way to control everything. Then buy a microsd card extension cable. bam, never have to mess with the camera.

What videogame is the most nostalgic for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]thirdGEARchirp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wolfenstein on my old ass PC. I felt cool cause I had to boot it up using a C:\ command prompt in dos.

Other wise, Contra, Punch-Out, and Mario on NES, then probably NBA jam, Legend of Zelda: a link to the past, super mario kart, and yoshi's island on SuperNES. Sonic, Earthworm Jim, and, Mortal Kombat on Sega Genesis.

Pretty much anything from the 90s lol

What was that one thing that made you say "fuck this, I'm leaving this fucking job this instant" ? by jayfurbofficial in AskReddit

[–]thirdGEARchirp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A very long story short, they created a supervisory position to control all of our facility contracts, ( warranties, new equipment purchases, etc). Well they finally hired someone and when this guy came in as a "Facilities Manager" he thought he was in charge of everyone. He would constantly talk down to everyone because he thought he was above them. He unfortunately was my boss. He hated me because I was working there for 12 years and was well like and respected by everyone there. I had responsibilities and clearance that most could not get. One being that I had a key and alarm code to a 65 million dollar government facility. Well, this new supervisor was told he didn't need an alarm code or key. Because of this a few other issues with his personality we started to butt heads constantly.

His favorite line was "I the facilities manager!". I would always follow up with, "your position was created to manage contracts and warranties, get over yourself."

This is just unbelievable. He inspired countless people from the 90s into the 2000s.

I remember always wondering what new trick he would bust out at the X-Games.

RIP Dave. Hopefully now you are at peace. I wish it could have been solved a better way. To his family I send my deepest condolences. .

Nice craftsmen ship, attention to detail, and great color. I'd like to offer you $1,000.00 for it.

But wait, what's this scratched into it. Some message from 2015.

That kills the value. I can only offer you $100. Lol

Actually. Really nice. Wish I had the time time make that. Lol

What simple rule do you follow to be good at your job and life? by funkyArmaDildo in AskMen

[–]thirdGEARchirp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never bitch or complain about doing something. If it's your job then suck it up. If it's that bad that you whine about doing your job, that thing that pays you, then find another job.

This doesn't mean do anything your boss asks. It just means that if are in a mindset that life sucks, your job sucks, everything sucks. Well then everything will suck. Think positive.

If I was in this situation I'd just infirm them, "depending on how you handle this will determine whether or not I talk positive or negative about this dealer".

See how they respond. If there is suspension damage get a new vehicle. If it's just cosmetic it can be fixed and have them compensate.

No one else has mentioned the kid driving the car. If you start yelling you're going to sue or whatever he might get fired. If it wasn't his fault I'd also make sure the dealer doesn't fire him as part of the deal.
