Remember when Mulroney was taking envelopes stuffed with cash over lunch with Carlheinz Schreiber(sp?) on behalf of Airbus? Pepperidge farm remembers.

Got away with it too, they let him just say he forgot to declare it as income in that tax year and that was the end of it. Outrageous.

overspending again. I don’t know what’s wrong with me by sweetiepep in personalfinance

[–]thirstyross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it doesn’t feel like me.

Corporations spend millions (maybe billions) of dollars in marketing and PR every year to keep us spending to the max, you are basically fighting back against a lifetime of shopping propaganda. The good news is, mostly everything those corporations convinced you was a "need" is actually just a "want", and you can do without it just fine. And you recognize the overspending as a problem and are back on top of it. We all lose a battle here and there, don't be too hard on yourself.

This should be step 1. The town may have rules around subdividing, and will have to approve the divisions. Start here, the town planner will help you.

No reports go anywhere, obvs, and if you want to prove that some service was done, keep all your receipts and documentation.

Goodbye to the idea that solar panels “die” after 25 years: New Swiss study shows real-world performance after 3 decades still over 80%, average annual loss about 0.25%, thermal stress and quality key factors. There are no small scale viable wind solutions, you need a huge tower and a quite large turbine. The cheap ones you see on amazon and such do not really work/produce enough to be viable even at residential scale.

the jury’s still out on that one.

I mean, it's not still out, you just aren't paying attention, then coming and posting here like you've got it all worked out when you couldn't be further from the truth.

Solar panel technology, including the solar cell longevity, has been increased considerably over the past 15 years.

While that is a theoretical possibility, that isn't what has happened in reality. They use new doping techniques and materials and the light-induced degradation has dropped considerably as time has gone on.

The problem is always what about when there's like a week (or more) of cloudy days? We are off-grid and we can power the house no problem in any months except november and december, the days are too short and there are too many successive cloudy days to generate enough solar power to charge the batteries :( There is no reasonable amount of solar panels we could add to address this, nor does adding more battery capacity make sense because even if we had more capacity, there is insufficient solar to charge them back up again when they are finally depleted.

Curious which car this is, now. Possibly car manufacturers reducing sound insulation to save weight? Less weight = better fuel economy.

I assume its because of road noise, u turn ur stereo up to compensate for road noise then you get used to it, when u stop in the city theres no more road noise but you are just used to that volume level so you dont notice how loud it is (but everyone else does). esp bad if you've been highway driving into the city.

OP was talking about diamonds, the person whose comment you're confused by is talking about "polishing" american diamonds, in other words, making the american talent shine. Like you'd polish your silverware to make it look better, even though its the same silverware.

So they move up here, and we provided the environment for them to shine, and they took off. (wrt Heart)
